We’ll see a “very different” side to Stephen Graham in “strange” and “compelling” new dark thriller

Stephen Graham will be appearing in the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie next month, but he also has another film releasing in March that promises to reveal a completely different side of his acting range.

In The Good Boy, Graham plays Chris, a man who kidnaps 19-year-old Tommy (Anson Boon) hoping to correct his bad behavior and help him change his ways.

Despite sounding like a typical thriller, The Good Boy (released as Heel in the US) is surprisingly different. As Digital Spy noted in their five-star review after its premiere at the BFI London Film Festival, it’s a truly unique and captivating film – unlike anything you’re likely to see this year.

But don’t just take our word for it as Stephen Graham thinks the same.

During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, he described his new film as “a really strange, but good, little movie.” He praised the script and said he plays a fantastic character – someone quite unusual and unlike his typical roles.

Jan Komasa makes his English-language film debut with The Good Boy, a movie featuring Andrea Riseborough as Chris’s wife, Kathryn, who assists him with a troubling plan. Kit Rakusen plays their son, Jonathan, and Monika Frajczyk appears as their new housekeeper, Rina.

Last month, Digital Spy was the first to announce the release date for the thriller, The Good Boy. The film will be in UK and Irish cinemas on Friday, March 20th.

It was recently confirmed as the opening movie of this year’s Manchester Film Festival on 19 March.

The new movie is already getting rave reviews, with a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The Standard called it “heart-stopping,” and TheWrap highlighted the incredible performances from Graham and Boon.

The Good Boy is exclusively in UK and Irish cinemas from 20 March.
