Weezer Bassist’s Wife Looks Frail After Being Shot by Cops

Scott Shriner’s wife, who is a member of the Weezer band, appeared delicate when she was spotted with him a few days after she was involved in an incident where she was shot by the police under suspicion for attempted murder.

51-year-old Jillian Lauren Shriner sustained a shoulder injury outside her residence in Eagle Rock, which is situated in northeastern Los Angeles, on April 9, following an officer’s gunfire.

In a reported incident, she was apparently caught up in a police search operation that took place near her house. From her front yard, she is said to have brandished a firearm towards the officers, leading them to respond by firing shots.

Jillian, who has just disclosed her struggle with cancer, was later placed under suspicion for attempted murder as she was being transported to a nearby healthcare center.

In their initial public appearance together following the dramatic gunfight, the pair displayed solidarity, as Jillian leaned against Scott, who is 59 years old, and tightly gripped his arm in Los Angeles on a Wednesday outing.

Scott appeared solemn while conversing with his wife, whose face showed obvious pain. He assisted her into a nearby vehicle as she was still recuperating from the bullet injury.

After Shriner assured everyone that his wife was safe following the shooting, he subtly promoted their band’s upcoming Coachella performance.

On Thursday, while speaking outside their Los Angeles residence, Shriner responded to a New York Post reporter’s inquiry with: ‘She’s doing well, I appreciate your concern.’ He chose not to disclose additional information regarding his spouse at that time.

‘See you at Coachella,’ he added, in a plug for the Weezer gig.

At one point, it was reported that Jillian had been transported to a hospital due to non-critical injuries, as stated by the Los Angeles Police Department.

In the afternoon, around 3 PM, I found myself in an unsettling situation when a gentleman, who had been involved in a three-vehicle accident on the 134 Freeway, made his way onto my neighbor’s premises. The events that followed were chaotic and unfortunate.

He quickly left the area along with two other males believed to be accomplices, then eluded police by removing his clothes down to his underwear and jumping into someone’s swimming pool while pretending to water plants, in an unusual effort to seem like a normal resident of the neighborhood.

Later on, Jillian stepped out of her house carrying a firearm, but it’s uncertain if she ever used it.

Police claimed that they repeatedly instructed her to discard the firearm, yet she persistently defied their orders, instead aiming it at them. According to authorities, she was hit in the shoulder during a police shooting.

Jillian hurriedly darted back into her home, soon returning accompanied by her babysitter. A brief while later, they were spotted with their palms up, complying with police instructions to move down the driveway. They were peacefully apprehended thereafter.

At that moment, it’s reported by CBS News that Jillian claimed she was merely protecting her home from a suspicious person running around the neighborhood when confronted by officers, as she was attempting to detain him. The individual was subsequently apprehended.

In a sequence of violent incidents, medical personnel inspected her for a non-lethal gunshot injury.

In the meantime, officers from California Highway Patrol arrested the driver of the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident, issued a citation, and let him go.

Police reported that they seized a 9mm handgun from Jillian’s residence during their investigation following the events that transpired in Southern California.

At a three-car collision scene, a female victim – who was among those involved – sustained moderate wounds and was transported to the hospital, as reported by the authorities, while the three males suspected of being involved in the incident allegedly fled the scene.

Officers added that Jillian had nothing to do with the initial hit-and-run.

Jillian was later booked and released after posting $1 million bond, LA County jail records showed.

It’s unclear if she’s attended a court hearing yet, nor is it evident that she currently has legal representation.

Meanwhile, the remaining two suspects who fled the multi-car crash remain at large.

Dailymail.com has reached out to the LAPD for additional comment.

Jillian revealed that she is battling cancer only weeks before the incident.

Last month in March, I proudly posted about my journey on my main Instagram page – sharing that I’ve been diagnosed with cancer and am bravely facing treatments.

I proudly shared a snapshot, beaming from ear to ear, lounging comfortably on a hospital bed – yes, you heard it right! – and giving a triumphant thumbs-up for all to see, straight into the lens of my camera.

Jillian did not disclose the kind of cancer she has.

Lauren and Scott married in 2005 and they have two adopted children together.

Apart from being married to Scott, Lauren has made a name for herself independently by writing a collection of memoirs and true crime books that have garnered recognition.

Weezer formed in Los Angeles, California in 1992.

Over the years, I’ve been utterly captivated by the music of Weezer, and their discography is a testament to their enduring greatness. From the iconic tunes like “Buddy Holly” (1994), the hauntingly powerful “Say It Ain’t So” (1995), the sun-drenched vibe of “Island in the Sun” (2001), to the timeless “Undone – The Sweater Song” (1994), these songs have left an indelible mark on my heart and music landscape.
