Back in 2025, Netflix revealed that the second season of our favorite show would be divided into two segments, each containing four episodes. As promised, they rolled out the initial four episodes on August 6th. Fast forward to September 3rd, and we finally got hold of the last four installments, thereby wrapping up the sophomore season in its entirety. Unfortunately, there won’t be a third part with additional episodes coming our way.
Fear not, fans eager for more of Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, as the series has indeed been greenlit for a third season! Before the second season even debuts, Netflix has confirmed the renewal. In a recent chat with Tudum, showrunner Alfred Gough gave us a sneak peek at what’s to come in the following chapter of this spooky saga.
For Season 3, just like every other season, our aim is to create an exceptional showcase for Wednesday. Our intention is to delve further into our characters’ stories while broadening the universe of Nevermore and the Addams Family. Expect to meet more family members and uncover more family mysteries in Season 3!
When questioned on what we can expect from Season 3, Gough stayed secretive about specific plot points, quipping with a witty response, “Well, then I’d have to bury you in an early grave!” However, the creators haven’t announced an exact release date yet, but rumors hint that it may come earlier than anticipated.
Starting in November 2025, filming for Season 3 of Wednesday will commence, which is only two months away. This has sparked speculation that we might see the new season as early as February 2027. In contrast to the three-year interval between seasons one and two, this third season appears to be arriving sooner. However, we’re still awaiting an announcement from Netflix regarding the official release date.
