It’s hard to believe a month has already passed since the final episode of Stranger Things! We’ll likely be discussing what happened to Eleven for years, but it seems the story of the Hawkins crew may be finished. Luckily, the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, are developing three new shows for Netflix, and we just learned more about one that will be released this spring.

The Duffer Bros’ New Show Sounds Like A Chilling Horror Fest
As a huge fan of the Duffer Brothers, I’m so excited about their next project! It’s called Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen, and it’s landing on Netflix in 2026 – seriously, just two months away! It’s an eight-episode series created by Haley Z. Boston, who’s done some cool work before – she wrote for Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities and was a story editor on Hunters. Apparently, the idea behind it is like a horror take on getting married, which sounds amazing and totally up my alley.
This series centers around Rachel and Nicky, a couple preparing to get married in just five days. Right before the wedding, they travel to a remote vacation spot owned by Nicky’s affluent family, but something terrible is about to occur. The show stars Camila Morrone (known from Daisy Jones & The Six) as Rachel, Adam DiMarco (Overcompensating) as Nicky, Jennifer Jason Leigh as Nicky’s mother, and Ted Levine (Monk) as his father.
The show’s creator recently told Entertainment Weekly that the classic horror films Carrie and Rosemary’s Baby inspired the series. However, viewers will have to watch the show to discover the “something very bad” that happens to the couple while they’re traveling.

Oh, And There’s More Where That Came From From The Duffers…
Beyond Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen, the Duffer Brothers have another series planned for this year: Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85. This animated spin-off takes place between seasons 2 and 3 of the original Stranger Things and features Eleven, Mike, Will, Lucas, Dustin, and Max in a style reminiscent of classic Saturday morning cartoons.
I’m also excited about a new show called The Boroughs. The creators, known for Stranger Things, have said it has a similar feel, as it follows a group of outsiders facing something supernatural. However, instead of kids, the main characters are residents of a retirement community in New Mexico. The show stars Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, and Bill Pullman.
Even though they recently finished working on a hugely popular show, this team is already releasing some exciting new series. We don’t have release dates for Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85 or The Boroughs just yet, but you can watch the complete season of Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen starting March 26th!
