In Season 2 of Arcane, we witnessed the climax of Caitlyn and Vi’s romantic connection. Despite taking place in an unconventional setting, their emotional exchange remains cherished among CaitVi supporters. To further delight fans, Fortiche, the French studio responsible for the series, shared the storyboard detailing the scene set in a jail cell featuring Caitlyn and Vi.

No censorship and blurry quality this time.

On LinkedIn, Joséphine Meis, a skilled 2D animation and storyboard artist at Fortiche, shared the highly anticipated storyboard for the romantic scene set in a jail cell, which features characters Caitlyn and Vi. This post was made in celebration of her nomination for the “Best Storyboard (TV/Series)” category at the 52nd Annie Awards.

At the Annie Awards 2025, I was honored with a nomination for best storyboarding. Here’s a glimpse of my work on the love scene! Many thanks go out to Fortiche for entrusting me with this task, to my lead Silvia Martelossi, and to the entire team of episode 8 as well.

On their LinkedIn account, Fortiche reshared a post to acknowledge the artist for her well-earned nomination. They express admiration for this remarkable accomplishment, stating, “What an outstanding achievement and fitting recognition for such a stunning piece of work.” Fortiche then invites everyone not to miss out on Josephine’s exceptional artistry ✨.

The CaitVi scene

In episode 8 of Arcane season 2, Caitlyn and Vi’s meeting struck a chord with many viewers. For dedicated League of Legends fans, this portrayal beautifully translated the long-standing bond between the two characters, which had only been hinted at before through indirect references and rare voice lines. To Arcane spectators, though, this scene represented an important stride towards increased queer representation in mainstream media – one that was handled sensitively and respectfully.

For the devoted Arcane fans, finding every variant of the heartfelt CaitVi moment has become a persistent quest. This pursuit started when showrunner Christian Linke hinted at an expanded version of the scene, currently stored on a hard drive in France.

Earlier this year, it turned out that a subpar version of the scene’s storyboard had been shared on Bilibili, a popular Chinese social media site, as it was an unauthorized leak. Given that Arcane was heavily censored in China, this leaked storyboard didn’t meet the usual standards.

Now, directly from Fortiche, CaitVi shippers can now get a transparent glimpse into the storyboard.
