We finally have a first-look at Wednesday season 2!
As a fan who grew up with The Addams Family and watched Jenna Ortega rise to stardom, I can hardly contain my excitement for the return of Wednesday! The first season was a delightful blend of Tim Burton’s signature dark humor and Jenna’s captivating portrayal of Wednesday. The upcoming second season promises even more twists and turns, which is music to this fan’s ears.
Catch a sneak preview of what’s to come in Season 2 of “Wednesday,” which promises even more entertaining twists as the dark comedy makes its return!
Among the top movies of 2022, “Wednesday” stood out as an exciting collaboration: Director Tim Burton working with The Addams Family. Actress Jenna Ortega portrayed Wednesday Addams, a budding sociopath who, following a mischievous stunt at her school, is relocated to Westmoreland Academy, a boarding school housing various supernatural beings.
In the midst of managing her school life and a love triangle that doesn’t faze her much, Wednesday embarks on an investigation into a string of murders uncovering a grim conspiracy. The series was widely acclaimed, propelling Ortega into stardom through memorable scenes such as the well-known dance sequence. A second season was commissioned, but it faced delays due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes and Ortega’s increasing workload. Fortunately, it’s finally on its way, with Netflix giving a sneak peek at the early filming days!
What’s coming in Wednesday Season 2?
In a semi-trailer scene, Luis Guzman portrays Gomez, warmly greeting the audience as “Hello, my tiny rain cloud.” The storyline unfolds on set once again, featuring the return of Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, who delivers the iconic Addams Family hand snap.
As a devoted fan, I found myself captivated by a fascinating glimpse into Emma Myers’ transformation process, with her sporting black tresses that sparked curiosity: could this be the real Emma before she transformed into Enid, Wednesday’s werewolf roommate, or is it Enid emulating Wednesday’s style instead?
As an avid fan, I’ve been privy to sneak peeks of Westmoreland, featuring a hint of Wednesday wielding a knife and exclaiming, “Let’s play dolls.” The second season at Westmoreland promises some grand spectacles, with Wednesday igniting (literally) the students’ spirits. Tim Burton is orchestrating this dark drama, as the cast hints that Season 2 will be even more twisted than its predecessor.
In the upcoming Season 2, Percy Hynes White (previously known as Xavier Thorpe) and Naomi J. Ogawa (previously Yoko Tanaka) won’t be reprising their roles. However, Joanna Lumley has joined the cast as the Addams Family Grandmama, while Thandiwe Newton takes on the role of Dr. Fairburn, our new school principal. Additionally, Steve Buscemi and Billie Piper are part of the expanded cast, but they won’t appear just yet.
The scene concludes with Ortega in his typical Wednesday fashion, commenting, “Any more would make your eyes hemorrhage. I’m not one for giving too much away.” It’s just a taste, but it’s exciting to witness this intriguing series back on track and poised to surpass the excellence of its initial season.
Wednesday season 1 is streaming on Netflix.
