Watch the trailer for Suranne Jones and Jodie Whittaker’s “thrilling” new ITV heist drama now

The initial teaser for the exhilarating new ITV show titled “Frauds,” starring Suranne Jones and Jodie Whittaker, is now available to watch.

In an upcoming dramatic film centered around a heist, the duo takes on roles as cunning swindlers, sharing a complex and humorous bond that borders on toxicity, as they join forces to execute the art heist of all time.

Today, we get a glimpse of Bert (Jones), who is now out of prison due to compassionate reasons following a terminal illness. She turns to her former partner, Sam (Whittaker), asking for help with “one final task.

According to Bert, they plan on making off with a renowned artwork from Spain’s grandest gallery. As they gather allies for the daring theft, the footage hints at intrigue and deceit lurking within their group.

As Bert humorously tells a chicken at the end: “Trust nobody, kid.”

As I eagerly anticipate the unfolding events, it’s clear that the group faces a myriad of hurdles before they can successfully execute the heist. However, what could potentially sabotage their mission and lead to their downfall is the intense power struggle brewing between Bert and Sam.

Nestled amidst the grandeur of southern Spain’s undulating landscapes and shrouded by the ominous criminal network that lurks beneath its sunny coastline, “Frauds” presents a captivating and engrossing narrative revolving around friendship, deceit, and endurance.

The TV show was jointly developed by Jones and Anne-Marie O’Connor from Hullraisers, while Horacio Colomé, Christian Cooke, Talisa Garcia, Elizabeth Berrington, and Lee Boardman are part of the cast as well.

Working alongside Anne-Marie [O’Connor] and Monumental on fraud cases over the past two years has been quite an exciting journey, as Jones stated earlier.

Instead of portraying harmful dynamics between women as is often seen in the heist genre, we’ve flipped the script to inject it with emotional depth. Collaborating with Jodie has long been a dream of mine, but that dream has now become a reality. I truly hope you enjoy the antics of Bert and Sam as much as we do.

Frauds will premiere on ITV1 and ITVX this autumn.
