The first trailer is out for Midwinter Break, a new British drama starring Lesley Manville, known for her roles in The Crown and Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris. She appears alongside Ciarán Hinds, famous for Game of Thrones.
The story begins with a couple enjoying a beautiful trip to Amsterdam. However, their idyllic vacation hides underlying problems – and it’s not just that they’re growing distant from each other.
The film starts shifting from lovely scenery to disturbing images of war, including injured patients in hospitals, religious symbols, and a house engulfed in flames. The story also hints at a troubled history and a debt that needs to be settled.
