Edgar Wright’s new movie is the second time Stephen King’s story has been adapted for the screen, after a 1987 version with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Producers are expecting it to be a big hit when it comes out later this week.
Paramount Pictures has dropped a new, fast-paced trailer to build anticipation for the film. It shows the main character, Ben, trying to gather support and overthrow those in power.

YouTube’s comments section was buzzing with enthusiastic fans after the trailer dropped. One user perfectly summed up the excitement, saying, “Edgar Wright directing Glen Powell? That’s a guaranteed hit! The trailer has incredible energy!”
One user excitedly wrote, “Can’t wait to watch it on Friday, love Edgar!” Another praised the film, saying it was likely one of the best action movies of the year and highlighted Edgar Wright’s signature style.
The film boasts a strong cast alongside Powell, featuring Josh Brolin, Michael Cera, Lee Pace, William H. Macy, Emilia Jones, and Colman Domingo, who will portray TV host Bobby T.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Domingo revealed he based his performance on Jerry Springer. He explained he admired how Springer could get the audience riled up while still appearing uninvolved in the chaos.
The actor explained that the director seemed to believe in letting things unfold naturally, prioritizing the completion of the show, and then being able to rest easy. He added that this approach felt very characteristic of Bobby T, and he will soon be seen in the upcoming film, Wicked: For Good.
The Running Man is in cinemas on 12 November in the UK and 14 November in the US.
