TOHO Animation has revealed the authentic trailer for the impending anime series titled “My Hero Academia: Citizen Heroes.
As a devoted fan, I’d like to share my excitement about a captivating series that serves as a prequel to “My Hero Academia,” penned by Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court. This thrilling tale unfolds five years prior to the events in Kohei Horikoshi’s masterpiece. The narrative revolves around an extraordinary young man named Koichi Haimawari, who uses his unique abilities to aid others without being a licensed Hero. In a twist of fate, Koichi and street performer Kazuho Haneyama find themselves under attack by a ruthless gang. However, their fortunes change when the mighty vigilante Knuckleduster swoops in to save them. Impressed by their courage and determination, Knuckleduster extends an invitation for them to join his ranks as vigilantes!
The upcoming anime is produced by Bones, a studio known for producing all 7 seasons of My Hero Academia. It’s also directed by Kenichi Suzuki, a seasoned professional who has worked on several seasons of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Cells at Work!. A sneak peek of the anime’s theme song, “Kekka Orai,” sung by Kocchi no Kento, was released in the trailer. This artist rose to fame with his popular single “Hai Yorokonde” last year.
Take a look at the official trailer for “My Hero Academia: Vigilantes” found above. The series is set to debut in Japan on April 7, and it will also be available for streaming on Crunchyroll at the same time.
