The Long Walk” is set to deliver an intense and thought-provoking portrayal of Stephen King’s chilling early work, delving into topics such as endurance, fellowship, and the grim realities borne out of oppressive rule.

In a grim, not-too-distant future America transformed into a police state, “The Long Walk” is an annual televised event where 100 teenage boys from across the nation are required to walk non-stop along U.S. Route 1. The rules are straightforward yet ruthless: they must keep their pace above 4 miles per hour. If a contestant slows down for more than 30 seconds, they receive a warning. Receiving three warnings leads to immediate elimination – being executed on the spot by the soldiers overseeing the event. The victor is granted any wish for the remainder of their life. The narrative largely follows Ray Garraty, a 16-year-old from Maine, as he embarks on this grueling and deadly competition, forming tentative alliances and observing the devastating impact the walk has on the boys’ bodies and minds.
