Watch the new trailer for Severance season 2, coming to Apple TV+ in January 2025
As a seasoned sci-fi aficionado, who’s had a lifetime of navigating the labyrinthine plots and paradoxes that these genres often present, I must say that the trailer for Apple TV+’s Severance has me positively intrigued! It’s been a long wait since the first season graced our screens back in early 2022, but the anticipation is reaching its boiling point.
Hey sci-fi enthusiasts! A fresh trailer is out now for the intriguing science fiction series “Severance,” exclusively on Apple TV+. In this thought-provoking drama, employees have their personalities divided into separate entities, each unaware of the other’s activities. The first season debuted in early 2022, and fans have eagerly awaited more ever since. But the wait ends soon! On March 18th, we’ll finally get to see what happens next for Mark (Adam Scott) and his colleagues at work.
The live-streamer is evidently prepared to excite us and jog our memories about what made us all adore the show Severance initially. This fresh trailer further explores some unresolved enigmas from season 1, while still maintaining the thought-provoking atmosphere that’s typical of Severance. You can watch it here:
Severance season 2 puts the Innies in reform as Mark searches for his wife
In the initial run of Severance, numerous enigmas unfolded, yet beneath it all, the narrative centered around the curiosity of the Innies – these characters confined to Lumon’s corporate environment – about the lives led by their counterparts, the Outer selves. Were they parents? Spouses? Would they choose to continue dividing their identities if they were aware of the inhumane work conditions their professional selves were facing?
For our Innies, those responses weren’t simple or straightforward. Some individuals, such as Dylan (Zach Cherry), uncovered an existence beyond their current one that sparked a desire for freedom. On the other hand, characters like Helly (Britt Lower) grappled with intricate ties to their Outie, who appeared determined to keep her bound by Lumon’s influence regardless of circumstances.
As a film aficionado, I found the disclosures concerning Mark utterly astounding. In his external life, his beloved wife Gemma had perished. Yet, in an unexpected twist late in season 1, Inner Mark chanced upon a photograph of Gemma…only to discover that she was alive and working within Lumon’s offices. The season 2 preview centers around this enigma, with Inner Mark rallying his companions to aid him in unraveling the truth about Gemma’s fate and her transformation into wellness counselor Ms. Casey (Dichen Lachman). Meanwhile, Outer Mark presses for explanations from Lumon executive Harmony Cobel (Patricia Arquette), who remains shrouded in secrecy.
I found the initial season of “Severance” to be exceptionally strong television, and I eagerly anticipate its comeback. I was among those viewers who tuned in as it premiered, and my enthusiasm has been difficult to maintain over the years. However, with trailers like this one, my excitement is rekindled. I’m now more than ready!
Severance season 2 premieres January 17 on Apple TV+.
