Watch terrifying campfire stories turn real in gruesome horror anthology Lore

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for horror movies and an affinity for the eerie, I must say that the upcoming anthology horror film, “Lore,” has piqued my interest significantly. The trailer alone sends shivers down my spine and evokes memories of late-night campfire tales spun by friends during LAN gaming marathons – the kind where you dared not look over your shoulder for fear of what lurks in the dark.

In the chilling anthology horror film, “Lore,” directed by James Bushe, Patrick Ryder, and Greig Johnson, a camping trip unexpectedly becomes a terrifying ordeal.

Starting its screening at last year’s FrightFest, the movie titled “Lore” can now be streamed exclusively on the Icon Film Channel. It will hit select theaters across the United Kingdom starting from Friday, September 27. For those who cannot view it through these methods, the film will be available for home entertainment in the UK during October.

If you’re in the United States, you can currently rent or buy the movie from online platforms such as Amazon Video and Apple’s streaming service.

The show “Lore” features actors such as Richard Brake (“Hannibal Rising”), Andrew Lee Potts (“The Witcher”), Bill Fellows (“Ted Lasso”), and Rufus Hound (“Hounded”). This series revolves around a thrilling and spooky camping trip, where the enigmatic leader, Darwin (played by Richard Brake), guides a group of friends. As they gather around the fire, Darwin invites them to share their scary stories. However, little do they know that narrating tales about supernatural entities might have dire consequences for everyone involved.

From the preview and initial images, it appears that the movie Lore will incorporate common elements of folk horror, such as ominous pursuers, spectral hauntings, and other chilling scenes. Some critics have likened it to the atmospheric horror of classic Hammer films, blended with a hint of the thought-provoking style found in Black Mirror.

Check out the full-length trailer below:

In a nod to traditional horror stories, Lore combines chilling scenes with the group huddled around a campfire, much like an installment from the spooky series Are You Afraid of the Dark?, but ratcheting up the fear factor significantly.

Lore is being distributed by Kaleidoscope Entertainment and has a runtime of 87 minutes.

The movie ‘Lore’ can currently be streamed exclusively on the Icon Film Channel. It will also be shown in certain UK cinemas starting from September 27, with a Video On Demand release scheduled for October 21.
