Star Wars is celebrating its upcoming content, including a behind-the-scenes look and a new poster for the final Disney+ premiere in 2025. Fans are excited for the return of the franchise to theaters in 2026 with The Mandalorian and Grogu, and there’s plenty happening on Disney+ in the meantime. The next installment, Star Wars: Visions Volume 3, arrives on October 29th and will again showcase animated stories that aren’t part of the official Star Wars timeline.
Unfortunately, not every Star Wars show is coming out when planned. The series Young Jedi Adventures, originally scheduled for Fall 2025, has been pushed back to 2026, making Visions the last Star Wars release on Disney+ this year. Disney+ recently shared a new behind-the-scenes look and poster for Visions Volume 3, focusing on its first short, “The Duel: Payback.” The new season will feature nine anime-style shorts, all premiering on the same day.
A new poster released on X reveals striking artwork for the upcoming sequel to “The Duel” (from Volume 1). It features the Ronin, his droid B5-56, and a powerful new Twi’lek Sith warrior named Anee-san, who wields a uniquely powerful lightsaber.

A new video called “Filmmaker Focus” explains how Takanobu Mizuno, the director at Kamikaze Douga, and designer Takashi Okazaki combined traditional Japanese art with elements from Star Wars to create a richer setting for the Ronin character.
Oyabun Que-Dama, a gambling boss covered in tattoos, is a powerful figure who runs a mobile casino built on a transformed Imperial walker. He commands respect and is known for being ruthless.

Beside him stands FZBOL, a very strong Wookiee bodyguard who complements Que-Dama well.

The Huck, a quirky creature reminiscent of the aliens from A New Hope, brings a unique and recognizable element to Volume 3. It’s a great example of how Visions blends nostalgic references with completely new concepts.

The promotional video shows the Ronin peacefully relaxing in a bacta tank, reminiscent of Japan’s calming onsen hot springs, with a misty, natural setting.

The show offers a different take on the Jedi, stepping outside of established Star Wars lore. Here, they’re depicted as powerful warriors, led by a strong Grandmaster, who clash with a lone, wandering swordsman known as a Ronin.

With its striking black-and-white visuals accented by splashes of color, “The Duel: Payback” showcases Kamikaze Douga’s unique style and effectively kicks off Volume 3.

What To Expect in Star Wars Visions Vol. 3
Volume 3 of Visions continues the popular stories from the previous collections released in 2021 and 2023. In addition to the story “The Duel: Payback,” this season revisits “The Ninth Jedi” with “Child of Hope,” which follows Kara’s quest to find her father and rebuild the Jedi Order. This sets the stage for a 2026 limited series spinoff, Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi.
I’m really excited about the continuation of Jedi survivor F’s story in “The Lost Ones.” It sounds like she’s going to uncover some fascinating truths about her master and what happened to them under the Empire. And I’m hoping the remaining episodes will introduce us to some new worlds and characters that we’ll really love – it’s so cool to see Star Wars expanding into anime, and I can’t wait to see where it goes!
