This new series, set in 12th-century England, reimagines the well-known story of a charming outlaw who robbed from the wealthy and gave to those in need. It also focuses on the romantic relationship between this hero and Marian.
After the Normans conquered England, Rob, the son of a Saxon forester, and Marian, the daughter of a Norman lord, find love and team up to champion fairness and liberty.
Rob leads a group of rebel outlaws, while Marian goes undercover at the royal court. Together, they aim to stop the kingdom’s corruption and restore peace.
Based on the new trailer, the upcoming series seems like it will be a deeply emotional experience, featuring both heartbreaking moments and grand love stories.
The trailer reveals that Rob loses his home and witnesses his father’s public execution by the Sheriff of Nottingham.
Rob quickly decides to fight back, declaring: “They harm our people and claim it’s right, then accuse *us* of being criminals. If that’s how it is, then we’ll be criminals who fight for a reason.”
This new series is being called a clever, grand, and romantic adventure, praised for its realistic historical details. New episodes will be released each week, and the season will conclude on December 28th.
Michael Wright, head of MGM+, recently shared with Deadline that they were thrilled to have Jack Patten in his first leading role for a TV series.
As soon as we saw him, we knew he was the perfect choice for Robin and could truly capture the spirit of this famous character.
Jack infuses this fresh take on the classic romance with a captivating charm and genuine emotion. He plays a charismatic outlaw who robs from the wealthy to help those in need, and along the way, he finds a strong and equal partner in Marian.
