Watch now: Netflix’s You releases new teaser trailer for final season

Netflix recently released a sneak peek video for the upcoming fifth and last season of “You”. This exciting preview comes before the series is set to air.

In April 24th, the upcoming season of the suspenseful drama series about a serial killer named Joe Goldberg, portrayed by Penn Badgley, will continue. This time, his tranquil existence in New York City is disrupted as his past comes back to haunt him.

Before the debut, Netflix has unveiled a new trailer for the final installment. In this sneak peek, Joe starts off by asserting that “love puts us to the test” and admits he’s been put through more trials than most in his journey from rags to riches.

He’s experienced it all, from misfortune in life and romance – that is, until I met you. This was followed by his statement as girlfriend Kate Galvin (Charlotte Ritchie) appeared on screen, with him being referred to as the “most fortunate man in New York” due to his association with Lockwood Corp.

Three years after Joe and Kate moved from London to New York City, Kate now holds the position of CEO at Lockwood Corporation, with Joe by her side as a devoted husband who has earned the nickname “Prince Charming” from their admirers. Together, they are fulfilling their promise to support each other in doing good, as suggested by this synopsis (from Tudum).

Joe’s journey towards becoming the person he aspires to be is an ongoing process. Throughout this season, he encounters Bronte (played by Madeline Brewer), who challenges his privileged lifestyle, and he must navigate his relationship with Kate’s family members.

In every season, they consistently discover fresh ideas to keep things engaging and current,” Badgley noted about the last season. “This time around, returning to where it all began gave it a solid foundation that allowed for an impressive climax.

Executive producer and co-showrunner Michael Foley expressed, “It was heartwarming to see things returning to their beginning for Joe. We’re thrilled that he has transformed so much from his Season 1 self. The essence of our ending storyline for Joe lies in this contrast between the past and the present.

You season 5 premieres on Netflix on April 24. Seasons 1-4 are available to stream on Netflix.
