Watch Mickey Mouse give a parenting lesson to a dad in front of Disney guests

As a seasoned Disney goer and parent of three energetic kids, I must say, Mickey Mouse gets my seal of approval for his swift parenting skills! The incident with the toddler was just another day at the Happiest Place on Earth, where unsupervised children are as common as popcorn buckets.

As a dedicated gamer, I can attest that Mickey Mouse is more than just a beloved character; he seems to have a soft spot for keeping an eye on the young ones. If ever I find myself in hot water with this American icon, it’s his warm smile that delivers the gentle scolding, leaving me feeling both chastised and amused at the same time.

On the popular social media site “X”, Mickey was strolling amidst a throng of people dressed for Halloween in his costume. Unintentionally, he bumped into a toddler who had approached from behind. Immediately, Mickey assisted the child back onto their feet, while his fellow cast members looked on nearby.

You can watch it all unfold below and then ask yourself, was Mickey wrong in what he did next?

Mickey seemed to make everything seem enjoyable, and I must admit, “Bravo, Mickey Mouse!” A touch of parenting can indeed be effective. It appeared that Mickey wasn’t troubled when the child accidentally bumped into him, and he was mindful of the child’s well-being. However, when the child looked for an adult, the father seemed to be preoccupied, so Mickey decided to hold onto his phone.

On that particular day, it’s likely the father picked up some valuable insights. As a parent of an energetic five-year-old who reacts like a magnet around Disney characters, I completely understand the struggle of keeping them tethered. In all honesty, I too have resorted to using those wrist leashes at times.

Despite this, I usually catch up with him before he finds himself in a predicament. It’s quite astonishing how many kids are left without supervision, leading to various incidents. For instance, children have been known to strike characters, attempt to remove their heads, and frequently engage in pulling, tugging, and other inappropriate behavior as the characters pass by, often when they’re not being watched.

Disney isn’t a nursery or an educational institution; it’s primarily a family-oriented theme park. The incident itself was adorable, but the parents’ response following it was questionable. The numerous comments on the “X” thread indicate that many people share this sentiment.
