Watch Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in first teaser trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2

Fans waiting for The Devil Wears Prada 2 can get excited! A new teaser trailer just dropped, offering a sneak peek at the sequel. Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway are both featured, hinting at the return of their iconic characters, Miranda Priestly and Andy Sachs. While the movie isn’t out for another six months, the trailer promises a welcome reunion within the pages of Runway magazine.

The preview shows a striking pair of red shoes walking through an office. As they enter an elevator, it’s revealed that Meryl Streep’s character, Miranda, is wearing them. She’s sporting sunglasses and a black-and-white outfit with a bold red belt – definitely not any shade of blue!

Before the elevator doors can close, she’s joined by Hathaway’s Andy, who says simply: “Miranda.”

“Took you long enough,” Miranda quips, as Andy puts her own pair of sunglasses on.

The song ‘Vogue’ by Madonna plays as the scene unfolds, then transitions to a title card revealing the release date: May 1st.

Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci are returning to their famous roles as Emily and Nigel in the film.

I’m so excited to see Kenneth Branagh, Tracie Thoms, Tibor Feldman, Lucy Liu, and Simone Ashley (who I absolutely loved in Bridgerton!) are all joining the cast!

Lady Gaga will also be in the project, and stars like Sydney Sweeney and Donatella Versace have already been seen filming.

In a recent interview with ELLE, Emily Blunt described her return to the project as deeply emotional. She explained that the original film was transformative for her career, as director David Frankel took a chance on her when she was relatively unknown, ultimately changing her life.

I was working as an actor, but I wasn’t well-known. He really wanted me in the film after hearing just one audition recording, and that meant the world to me.

She explained that the role allowed her to be seen as more than just someone who played characters in British historical dramas. It created opportunities for more diverse and interesting parts, which was exactly what she was hoping for. She wanted to move beyond playing naive, young characters.

The popular 2006 movie, originally based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 book, is now also a successful musical in London’s West End, featuring new songs by Elton John.

Vanessa Williams, known for her roles in Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty, currently plays Miranda, while Stevie Doc, the winner of Mamma Mia: I Have A Dream, now plays Andy.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is out on May 1.
