Warner Bros. Was Making a Mario Kart-Style Crossover Game

It seems that Warner Bros. had been developing a game concept akin to MultiVersus, yet with the competitive spirit of Mario Kart.

News about this go-kart racing game is from the Sacred Symbols podcast (via VGC), where host Colin Moriarty stated that it was being developed by Warner Bros. San Diego. The game was initially a free-to-play, online-only racer that eventually became exclusive to PC during its later stages of development.

According to an unidentified informant, approximately one hundred individuals were involved in the game’s development, which was codenamed “Moonlight.” It seems possible that it might have been referred to as “WB Racers” when it was about to be launched.

Moriarty stated that there was a significant amount of internal discontent, as those involved in the game’s development felt it was unjust that their sister team, Player First, were able to debut MultiVersus on two occasions, when they themselves had not been given a chance to launch even once despite all their hard work.

Earlier this year, Warner Bros. Studios in San Diego, along with Player First Games and Monolith Productions, temporarily halted operations.
