Warner Bros. Discovery will split into two separate companies
According to a statement made on Monday, Warner Bros. Discovery plans to split its assets into two distinct entities, each of which will be listed separately on the stock market.
The action unites the company’s legendary film studio, premium TV division (including HBO and HBO Max), and DC Studios into a combined entity called Streaming & Studios. Meanwhile, cable channels such as CNN, TNT, Discovery, and international over-the-air networks will function under the umbrella of Global Networks.
The division is intended to draw in investors for our expanding streaming enterprise, while avoiding the aging traditional TV business that’s on a downward trend. This move is projected to take place around mid-2026.
Warner Bros. Discovery plans to run as two separate and highly efficient entities in the future, giving these well-known brands the concentrated attention and strategic agility they require to thrive in today’s rapidly changing media world,” as stated by David Zaslav.

Hollywood Inc.
In the year 2023, HBO Max streamlined its identity to just “Max.” Warner Bros. Discovery is returning to their roots, revitalizing a name synonymous with exceptional television content.
In this rephrased version: At Warner Bros. Discovery, Zaslav is set to lead the Streaming & Studios division. Gunnar Wiedenfels, who currently holds the position of CFO, will assume the role of president and CEO for Global Networks. Both executives will remain in their existing roles at WBD until the company’s separation, at which point they’ll take on their new duties.
It’s been suggested by Zaslav that there could be a separation, given that Comcast revealed their plans to transfer MSNBC, CNBC, Golf Channel, USA Network, and other platforms into a new entity called Versant. This move aims to segregate the established businesses from the rest of the company as they concentrate on developing streaming services.
