Warner Bros. Denies Rumors of Sinners Sequel Amid Ryan Coogler’s Statements
The movie “Sinners” has been a monumental hit at the box office and remains a hot topic among certain groups of film enthusiasts. Given Ryan Coogler’s recent success, it’s not surprising to think that a sequel could be in development. After all, the movie does hint at potential future installments. Lately, whispers have surfaced that another chapter in Coogler’s vampire-themed series might be underway. Subsequently, Warner Bros. has weighed in on these speculations.
What Sparked The Sinners 2 Rumors, And How Did Warner Bros. Respond?
The news about another Sinners film emerged from Production Weekly’s updates, a platform that monitors big-budget movie and TV series production. Last week, it was reported on their site that a new Sinners film is being made. To be honest, Production Weekly has accurately predicted many major productions in the past. However, this time, it appears that they might have got it wrong.
Dark Horizons initially examined and even mused about the potential qualities of the listing. Later on, they got a communication from Warner Bros. Discovery. It appears that the film studio contacted them to debunk rumors of another movie being in production, explicitly stating that the claim was “untrue.” This revelation might generate conflicting emotions among fans of the film, as some may have been eager for a sequel while others seem reluctant about a Sinners 2. Nevertheless, this news aligns with what Ryan Coogler himself has previously shared.
What Did Ryan Coogler Say About A Potential Sinners Sequel?
Following the successful release of my genre-blending blockbuster in 2025, I’ve been fielding questions about a potential sequel. Frankly, I must confess that the idea doesn’t excite me as much as it once did. You see, I’ve been immersed in franchise work for quite some time now, and I yearn for a change of pace. Instead of crafting another film to kickstart a series, I envisioned this movie as a standalone masterpiece – a self-contained story that can be appreciated on its own merits.
I aimed for the film to offer a complete dining experience: from hors d’oeuvres to main course, and finally dessert. I wanted each part present, making it a whole and satisfying piece of work. This is what I envisioned it to be all along.
Despite some fans’ wishes for a sequel, Ryan Coogler’s dedication to telling a standalone story is truly commendable. For now, his focus appears firmly set on concluding the Creed narrative. As the saying goes, “leave them wanting more.

Sinners Ending Explained: Why The Door Is Open For Potential Sequels, And Why I Have Mixed Feelings
The movie “Sinners” garnered substantial praise even before its April release, and continued to receive accolades from the general public. Many commended aspects such as direction, cinematography, set design, music, and the performances, particularly Michael B. Jordan’s dual role as Stack and Smoke. The film has earned over $350 million worldwide, having been produced at a cost of approximately $90 million. If current trends continue, director Ryan Coogler could potentially reap significant profits from the movie in the future, especially since he will regain ownership of it in 25 years, according to an agreement with WB.
I’m not feeling particularly compelled to watch another installment of Sinners, given how neatly it concludes. Therefore, I don’t mind that the rumors about its sequel turned out to be untrue. If, by some chance, this film series continues, I’ll rely on its creator to construct a coherent narrative (or narratives) in whatever style he chooses.
