Warframe’s 2024 updates including MGS inspirations and … dating?

As a long-time gamer and dedicated Warframe player since its launch in 2013, I’m thrilled to pieces about Digital Extreme’s upcoming plans! The consistent updates have always kept me hooked, but these next ones are shaping up to be the most ambitious yet.

Since its release in 2013, Warframe by Digital Extremes has been regularly updated. However, the upcoming planned updates announced at this year’s TennoCon could be among the most significant ones yet. At the convention celebrating Warframe and its sister project Soulframe, it was revealed that there will be three more updates in 2024.

The initial update, named Lotus Eaters, lays the groundwork for the larger storyline that leads up to the incredibly complex and interdimensional saga known as Warframe 99.

As an avid fan, I’m excited to share that the upcoming Lotus Eaters quest in August will connect the last Whispers in the Walls storyline with Warframe 99. Although we don’t have many details yet, we can expect Lotus, our beloved space mom, to play a role. Additionally, this update brings us Sevagoth Prime, an enhanced version of the original Warframe with improved statistics and captivating cosmetics – Primes are highly sought-after for their power upgrades and unique appearances.

An additional, enigmatic expansion named unrevealed is scheduled to follow Lotus Eaters. Details about this secretive addition are scant, with Digital Extremes revealing more during their Tokyo Game Show introduction. This upcoming content drop includes a revamped Caliban for one of Warframe’s less favored characters, and it will be given out at no cost to all gamers.

In the winter of 2024, look forward to the visually groundbreaking “Warframe 99”. Set in an anime-inspired and Metal Gear-esque 1999, this game follows a group of six humans merged with Warframe technology called Protoframes. They form a syndicate known as the Hex. Communicate with each Protoframe via an AIM-like chat system to gather information, and perhaps even share a New Year’s kiss with your favorite one.

An engaging period for Warframe enthusiasts! With Digital Extremes releasing The New War, numerous long-standing quandaries and turmoil within the game were addressed in various ways. Yet, it’s evident that the game continues to thrive – and a burst of 90s vibes, complete with boy bands, is merely a testament to the game’s unexpected evolution.
