Walt Disney Co., Paramount pledge money for fire relief and rebuilding
The Walt Disney Company is donating fifteen million dollars towards aid and rebuilding initiatives, following the destructive wildfires that occurred in Southern California this past week.
On Friday, the entertainment conglomerate based in Burbank announced its plan to donate funds to various organizations like the American Red Cross, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. These organizations are committed to aiding victims of the devastating Palisades and Eaton fires, which have left a path of destruction by razing homes and businesses in affected neighborhoods. Despite firefighters’ efforts to control smaller blazes that have sparked and rapidly spread due to strong winds.
The economic toll of this week’s wildfires is expected to surpass $50 billion.
In the midst of this ongoing crisis, Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, has pledged their unwavering support to our community and employees as we jointly strive for recovery and rebuilding from this shocking catastrophe. With pride, they are ready to offer aid during these challenging times to the strong and dynamic community that finds itself in need.
Disney stated, “We’ve been working tirelessly to prioritize the safety and welfare of our staff, who have been affected by these fires. Additionally, we’re setting aside extra funds for our employee aid program.

Based in New York, the multimedia company Paramount Global (responsible for CBS, MTV, Comedy Central, and the Paramount film studio in LA) announced its intention to contribute $1 million to several organizations. These include the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, California Fire Foundation, World Central Kitchen, and Best Friends Animal Society.
