Walking Dead’s fan-favourite returning spinoff confirms UK streaming date

The eagerly anticipated second season of the spin-off series “Dead City,” beloved by many fans who follow “The Walking Dead,” will officially premiere on UK streaming platforms.

Initially airing in the year 2023, this show introduces us to the stories of Maggie Greene, portrayed by Lauren Cohan, and Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, set against the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic New York City.

The sky has officially announced that the upcoming season is set to debut in June on their platform, but they haven’t revealed the exact date as of now.

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that the new episodes are coming to the US a whole month early, starting from May 4! Luckily for us here in the UK, we won’t have to endure the long wait of over a year like we did with the first season.

Additionally, along with the release of the date, a sneak peek has been unveiled that features the initial scenes of the upcoming season.

The video shows a walker getting assaulted and thrown into a trash truck, then transported to a place filled with more walkers where they are confined in tanks that drain fluid from them. The camera then rises to capture Manhattan at night as its lights illuminate.

In the second season, as the struggle for power over Manhattan intensifies, Maggie and Negan end up on opposing sides.

In our encounters, I’ve found that the escape routes we envisioned are far more intricate and daunting than I could have ever anticipated. It’s a challenging revelation, but one that binds us together in this shared struggle.

Alongside the appearances of Cohan and Morgan, the upcoming episodes will also introduce four new cast members: Dascha Polanco, Jake Weary, Keir Gilchrist, and Pooya Mohseni.

The series “Dead City” was promptly renewed for a second season even before its first season finale, as AMC’s Dan McDermott expressed then: “We are eager to return the fans of Dead City to the heart of Manhattan for additional thrilling zip-lining exploits with Maggie and Negan.

Season 2 of “The Walking Dead: Dead City” is set to premiere on AMC on May 4, and it will air in the UK on Sky and NOW starting in June.
