Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery releases first look at Daniel Craig and Josh O’Connor

This year, detective Benoit Blanc returns to unravel a new mystery titled “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery“.

In June 2024, Netflix unveiled a sneak peek from the set to signal the commencement of filming for Daniel Craig’s reprisal as the beloved detective in the third installment of the “Knives Out” series.

The long-awaited glimpse into the film has arrived! The streaming platform has unveiled the initial snapshot, revealing Benoit’s comeback and Josh O’Connor’s onscreen persona.

Check it out below:

Here’s the cast list for the movie: Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church. (Exhale)

We still don’t know much about Wake Up Dead Man, including who any of the cast are playing.

The brief hint we’ve received so far is that this will be the most perilous case for detective Benoit Blanc yet. Screenwriter and director Rian Johnson also shared that the enigmatic title offers a slight clue about the story’s direction.

He mentioned that his affection for mystery novels, or whodunnits, runs deep, but what truly captivates him is the genre’s adaptability. He explained, “From the serious, suspenseful tone of Carr’s works to the lighter, more playful atmosphere in Christie’s, the range within this genre is vast.” He continued, “The opportunity to delve into and showcase this spectrum is one of the most thrilling aspects when creating movies featuring Benoit Blanc.

It was made known by Johnson in August 2024 that the shooting for the movie titled “Wake Up Dead Man” had been completed, and he also put an end to any speculation regarding Jeremy Renner’s participation in the film.

In the film “Glass Onion“, the star is depicted as the logo for a pretend hot sauce company; however, this role has no connection to his character in the upcoming movie.

“He’s playing a proper part in this one, we’ll keep the sauce off-screen,” Johnson noted.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery will be released on Netflix in autumn 2025.
