WAGS OF FURY

On Friday, Coleen Rooney was seen in high spirits in Cheshire, following the news that Rebekah Vardy has agreed to pay a substantial seven-figure amount after their much-publicized Wagatha Christie court battle concluded.

On Tuesday, it was disclosed that Rebekah, aged 42, consented to cover £1,190,000 of Coleen’s legal expenses, and was also instructed to pay an additional £212,266 in court-assessed penalties, following their high-profile libel trial, which ended unusually in their favor.

This takes the total Rebekah must pay to at least £1,402,266.20.

After the outcome, Coleen, aged 39, appeared more joyful than ever as she ventured out for the first time with a wide grin on her visage while attending to some tasks.

During our outing, the previous contestant from I’m A Celebrity… appeared athletic and stylish in a complete black outfit by Alo yoga brand.

With a chic, ribbed black T-shirt and coordinating leggings, she made her way towards her vehicle while clutching her necessary items.

To finish off her outfit, she added a pair of tortoiseshell cat-eye sunglasses and tied her brown hair into a low ponytail.

In the year 2022, Colleen accumulated a legal expense exceeding £1.8 million as she successfully defended herself against Rebekah’s High Court lawsuit.

Following their defeat in the High Court case, it was mandated that Rebekah should cover 90% of Colleen’s attorney fees.

In a written argument for a specialist costs court hearing on Tuesday, Juliet Wells, representing Rebekah, stated that Coleen’s legal fees amounting to £1,833,906.89 have been renegotiated and will now be paid as £1,190,000. This new figure is roughly equivalent to about £1,125,000 in principal costs, with an additional £65,000 for interest.

In court, it was revealed that although Coleen sought an additional £315,000 for ‘evaluation expenses’, Judge Mark Whalan mandated Rebekah to cover £212,266.20 of Coleen’s evaluation costs (including VAT but excluding interest), on top of the £1.19 million settlement.

As a lifestyle advisor, I’d like to share an important financial update: In accordance with court orders from 2024, I find myself obligated to reimburse Rebekah a sum of approximately £135,097.50 for costs incurred. This amount will be deducted from what Rebekah owes me, maintaining the balance between our financial obligations.

Previously, Mrs. Wells advocated for the cost of assessments to be limited to no more than £100,000 due to being excessively high. However, Judge Whalan deemed the amount granted as appropriate and balanced.

He mentioned that although significant expenses were incurred by both parties, overall, he felt content that the result was a mutually beneficial and profitable resolution for the two parties involved.

‘I do mean it when I say that I hope that this is the end of a long and unhappy road,’ he added.

Previously, Rebekah’s legal representative contended that Coleen’s team employed an overly broad strategy (often referred to as a “kitchen sink” approach) when computing the total cost. This included expenses totaling over £120,000 which, according to the argument, Coleen has no right to claim.

The bill allegedly contained expenses for a member of the WAG’s staff accommodation at a five-star luxury hotel, Nobu, along with significant costs for meals, beverages, and mini bar items.

The attorney pointed out that Coleen’s legal expenses totaling £1,833,906.89 were more than thrice the prearranged cost estimate of £540,779.07.

However, Coleen’s legal representative, Robin Dunne, contended that the accusation of dishonesty against them was extremely inappropriate.

In 2022, Rebekah attempted to take legal action against a famous participant of I’m A Celebrity in the High Court. The reason was that she had been publicly accused of sharing stories about herself with the media. However, her lawsuit did not result in a favorable outcome for her.

In the autumn of 2019, I found myself embarking on an extraordinary journey that would soon captivate the world – the Wagatha Christie case. It all began with a bold, public letter penned by me and shared across social media platforms. In this missive, I confessed to assuming the role of detective, unraveling the mystery of who among my circle was betraying our secrets to the press.

Colleen openly asserted that Rebekah’s account was the origin of three news articles containing fabricated details about her: her supposed trip to Mexico for a ‘gender selection’ treatment, her alleged plans to re-enter television, and the flooding incident in her basement.

Inclined to believe who it could be, Coleen told her millions of followers that in order to verify this, she devised a plan.

‘I blocked everyone from viewing my Instagram stories except ONE account,’ she wrote.

For the following five months, she posted a string of fabricated news articles to find out if they would get published by the media.

She wrote, “Here’s an interesting fact: They did it! I’m referring to the stories on gender selection in Mexico, her comeback to television, and the recent flooding in my new home’s basement.”

“She penned, ‘Did you know? They accomplished these tasks! Here are the stories about gender selection in Mexico, her return to TV, and the basement flooding incident in my new house.’

she persisted in creating anticipation by composing: “I’ve found it hard to stay quiet and avoid expressing myself, particularly given that some details have been disclosed prematurely. Yet, I had no choice. Now, I am absolutely sure about the source of this information.

I’ve kept copies and snapshots of each story, as it’s evident that only a single individual has accessed them.

And then, she delivered her final iconic line: ‘It’s………. Rebekah Vardy’s account.’
