Vybz Kartel, fresh off a hugely successful 2025 tour that included sold-out shows at the Barclays Center and O2 Arena, is set to release a new album. Titled God & Time, it’s coming out on June 5, 2026, and is being described as his most revealing and personal work since his release after 13 years. The dancehall superstar promises to explore new musical territory while offering fans a more intimate look into his life and thoughts as Adidja Palmer.
The 14-song album, God & Time, promises a diverse and immersive listening experience. It blends energetic dancehall tracks with smoother, more intimate songs, and even pushes boundaries with crossover appeal, while also showcasing Kartel’s more personal side. To make this vision a reality, Kartel has collaborated with a range of top artists, including Puerto Rican star Farruko, Jamaican sensation Skillibeng, and Shenseea, who appears on the lead single, “Panic.” The album’s production features experienced professionals like Grammy-nominated JonFX.
The album’s title, “God & Time,” holds deep meaning for the artist. It’s based on a common Jamaican saying and represents themes of faith, perseverance, and accepting what’s meant to be. For Kartel, it reflects his journey, his comeback in music, and his newfound creative control. To launch the album, he also released the official music video for the title track, “God & Time,” directed by Ruppi and filmed in both Miami and Kingston.
The release of this album comes as Kartel experiences a huge comeback in popularity, recently receiving two consecutive Grammy nominations for his music released after his time in prison. To mark this new chapter, Kartel will perform at Jamaica’s biggest music festival, Reggae Sumfest, on July 18, 2026. In a surprising move that’s created a buzz throughout Caribbean music, he’ll be headlining alongside Mavado, effectively ending their long-standing feud. This reunion brings together two dancehall legends whose famous rivalry, known as “Gaza vs. Gully,” dominated the scene throughout the 2000s.
Combining deeply personal stories, a worldwide launch, and incredible songwriting, God & Time is poised to be a landmark album in the world of reggae and dancehall. Fans can pre-save it now before it officially comes out on June 5, 2026.
