Vought Rising’s “electrifying” first look teaser gives first glimpse at The Boys “twisted” prequel

Prime Video has released a first look at Vought Rising, a new prequel to The Boys. The series is set in the 1950s and reveals the early, unsettling history of Vought International – the company responsible for creating superheroes with Compound V.

Set in New York City, the show revolves around the characters Soldier Boy, played by Jensen Ackles, and Stormfront, played by Aya Cash, and unfolds as a murder mystery.

Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki will be executive producers on the project, and the cast also includes Mason Dye, Will Hochman, KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolo Pasetti, Elizabeth Posey, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith.

Before Vought Rising comes out next year, viewers have gotten a sneak peek at the show. The first trailer begins with a voiceover from Soldier Boy, who offers his services to protect the nation.

He offered his help, saying, “I’d like to contribute if you need it.” He explained he wanted to serve his country and be recognized as a hero.

Okay, so then there’s this really intense montage showing other Supes – like Stormfront, Private Angel, Bombsight, and Torpedo. It looks like they’re showing the very beginning of the experiments they were doing on them, with a lot of gunfire and, honestly, just a ton of blood. It’s disturbing because they’re treating these people like they’re celebrities, parading them around even while… well, you can imagine.

“There is a brighter future…” Stormfront tells Soldier Boy. “All we need to do is take it.”

The series Vought Rising was initially announced in 2024. Paul Grellong and Eric Kripke, who are also executive producers, confirmed the project.

When the show was announced, the creators said they were thrilled to share the next wild installment from the world of The Boys.

This is a dark and complex murder mystery that reveals the beginnings of Vought International in the 1950s. It explores the early adventures of the hero Soldier Boy, and the sinister actions of a powerful individual known later as Stormfront, but who was then called Clara Vought.

They promised a shocking and disturbing story, full of violence and the dangerous drug, Compound V.

The Boys is available to stream in full on Prime Video.
