Voice Kids Star Dead at 17: Fans in Shock!
17-year-old former contestant on The Voice Kids, Karen Silva, passed away due to a hemorrhagic stroke. This unfortunate event occurred as a result of a burst blood vessel in her brain that caused internal bleeding.
The singer passed away at around 5am on Thursday, after spending several days in hospital.
Back in 2020, when I was only twelve years old, I managed to make a name for myself by advancing to the semi-finals of The Voice Kids.
A statement shared on her Instagram read: ‘*Note of sorrow*
We regretfully share the heartbreaking news of the passing of the promising 17-year-old vocalist, Karen Silva. After several days at São João Batista Hospital in Volta Redonda, she succumbed to complications from a hemorrhagic stroke.
Karen captivated Brazil with her strong vocal abilities and commanding stage presence, a trait that was evident even during her childhood years. In 2020, she showcased these talents on the popular television competition, The Voice Kids.
Ever since that point, his journey has been illuminated, demonstrating an amalgamation of skill, charm, and advocacy at each stage.
Karen wasn’t just an emerging artist; she embodied empowerment, serving as a powerful inspiration for many young Black girls, giving them the courage to envision their dreams.
‘Her music, her message and her joy leave a deep mark on all who met her and followed her journey.
At this deeply painful time, let us extend our heartfelt sympathy to Manoella and Fernando, along with their loved ones, friends, and supporters.

Karen passed away in Volta Redonda, northwest of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as reported by NeedToKnow.
Karen began taking singing lessons when she was just eight so she could sing Oh Happy Day.
Initially working with Lana Netto as her vocal instructor, she performed a song after only a few sessions, leaving everyone spellbound by her powerful singing voice.
‘From that day on, Karen never stopped singing and captivating people.’
Karen is survived by her parents, Manoella and Fernando, and her boyfriend, Marcelo.
Fernando Sérgio da Silva told local media that his daughter had shown ‘no signs of illness.’
He said: ‘She left home to have lunch on Friday, and three hours later she was in a coma.
‘For this year, 2025, we had big plans. For her, her clothing brand, new songs for her album.
‘To know my daughter passed like this, it hurts so much. It still hasn’t sunk in.’
Karen’s cousin Thais Silva recalled: ‘She was such an incredible girl, really perfect, you know?
‘Funny, charismatic, spontaneous. Wherever she went, she won everyone over.’
