As a longtime reader, I was surprised to hear that Anna Wintour, at 75, is leaving her role as editor-in-chief of US Vogue this June. After 37 incredible years shaping the magazine, it feels like the end of an era! It’s hard to imagine Vogue without her vision.
After three months, Chloe Malle, a 39-year-old who works at Vogue, was named the new head of editorial content for US Vogue.
On Saturday the daughter of Candice Bergen hit the Khaite fashion show in New York City.
The editor showed she wasn’t focused on appearances, opting for a natural look with minimal makeup and her hair pulled back.
The writer was dressed casually in a black tank top, showing off her natural nails while she held her phone.

Since becoming editor of vogue.com in 2023, Malle has successfully increased website traffic, doubling the number of visitors.
She will now be in charge of the magazine’s creative and editorial vision, but will continue to report to Anna Wintour, who will continue as Conde Nast’s chief content officer and Vogue’s global editorial director.
Since starting at the magazine in 2011, Malle has played a key role in several successful projects, including co-hosting Vogue’s weekly podcast on fashion and culture, improving their email newsletters, and growing their wedding content. She also created popular, lighthearted series like Dogue, a fun fashion magazine for dogs.
Malle, mentored by Anna Wintour, has become a leading candidate for a prominent position after successfully overseeing Vogue’s coverage of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding in June. She was also specifically chosen to conduct an exclusive interview with Sanchez.
That’s quite impressive, considering she confessed in a 2014 interview that she isn’t particularly interested in fashion.

Paradoxically, this may prove to be a strength.
Malle, a Brown University graduate living in New York City, enjoys life’s simple pleasures just as much as glamorous events. She shares her home with her husband, who works as a financial analyst, their two children, and a dog, and is equally happy building with Legos or having the best seat in the house.
Her coworkers see her as much more friendly and down-to-earth than her mentor, so she probably won’t follow in her footsteps by constantly wearing Chanel sunglasses.
Interestingly, Malle’s debut photo for Vogue featured her in jeans and a relaxed Dries Van Noten shirt costing $645 (or £482).
Although this new, controversial figure may not have the same glamorous style as the traditionally portrayed ‘devil,’ some jealous critics suggest that Malle received the opportunity easily due to her background.
She is the daughter of French filmmaker Louis Malle and American actress Candice Bergen.
At 79, Bergen has graced the cover of Vogue twice – in May 1967 and February 1969 – and has been featured in the magazine’s fashion and lifestyle sections a total of 104 times.

Interestingly, actress Kristin Davis, who played Charlotte York in Sex and the City, also portrayed a fictional Vogue editor on the show. Her character, Enid Frick, famously told Carrie Bradshaw that a woman should stop wearing a wedding dress for photos after turning 40.
No doubt her daughter will have more modern, inclusive views.
Malle expressed excitement and admiration for the rapid changes happening in both the fashion and media industries, and shared her joy at being involved in them.
‘I also feel incredibly fortunate to still have Anna just down the hall as my mentor.’
Even with Malle’s recent promotion, Anna Wintour is still the one truly in charge.
