Visions of Mana, the First Mainline Mana Game in 15 Years, is Out Now For Xbox Series X|S

Ahoy there, fellow traveler of digital realms! I’ve been eagerly awaiting this day like a cactus waiting for rain in the desert – with equal parts anticipation and desperation! You see, I’m an old-timer when it comes to gaming, having traversed through countless pixels and polygons since the days of the 8-bit wonder.

Today, Square Enix unveiled “Visions of Mana,” marking the long-awaited primary installment in the Mana series since over a decade ago. This release also signifies a reversion to the series’ origins as an Action Role-Playing Game (ARPG).

In Visions of Mana, you assume the role of Val, a recent soul guard appointee, who sets off on an exciting journey alongside his longtime companion Hinna, the Flame Alm. Together, you venture towards the Tree of Mana in pursuit of restoring the mana supply.

In 1993, the Mana series originated as a spin-off titled Mythic Quest within the Final Fantasy universe. The latest installment, Visions of Mana, seems to embody all the knowledge gathered from the previous 17 games. You have an opportunity to try out the demo version of Visions of Mana, and saving data from this demo grants you access to three weapons for Val in the complete game.

The game titled “Visions of Mana” is currently available for purchase on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. In this adventure, you’ll eventually get to control the character Val. When that happens in Chapter 1, you can arm him with three demo weapons: Gladius, Falx, and Horn Lance. The wind class Falx and moon class Horn Lance will become available for use once their respective classes are unlocked.
