Vision Series Cast Adds Battlestar Galactica Actor in Mystery Role

An actor from Battlestar Galactica has been cast in the upcoming Marvel series about Vision, though their role is currently being kept secret. The show, created by Terry Matalas and available on Disney+, will follow up on the story of Paul Bettany’s Vision character after the events of WandaVision. They’ll be joining James Spader, who is reprising his role as Ultron, and other new cast members playing human versions of well-known AI characters.

Mary McDonnell joins Marvel’s Vision series cast

Mary McDonnell, known for her two Academy Award nominations, is joining the cast of the upcoming Marvel series, Vision, on Disney+. While her exact role hasn’t been revealed, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed she will be appearing in the show.

Mary McDonnell is well-known for her role as President Roslin on Battlestar Galactica. More recently, she appeared in The Fall of the House of Usher. Throughout her career, she’s received Academy Award nominations for her performances in Dances With Wolves and Passion Fish.

Mary McDonnell has appeared in several popular films, including *Scream 4*, *Donnie Darko*, *Independence Day*, and *Sneakers*. On TV, she’s known for her roles in *Major Crimes* and *Grey’s Anatomy*, and she’s been nominated for an Emmy Award for her work on *The Closer* and *ER*.

Terry Matalas, known for his work on Star Trek: Picard, is leading the creative direction of this project. Paul Bettany is back as Vision, and James Spader once again plays Ultron. Joining the cast is Emily Hampshire as a human form of E.D.I.T.H., the AI originally created by Tony Stark and given to Peter Parker. Orla Brady will portray F.R.I.D.A.Y., and James D’Arcy returns as Edwin Jarvis.

T’nia Miller will play Jocasta, a character known for being clever, strong-willed, and motivated by a desire for revenge. Faran Tahir is back as Raza, the head of the Ten Rings organization, and Ruaridh Mollica will portray Tommy Maximoff, who goes by the name Speed.

Marvel is planning the Vision series as the next chapter in a story that started with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along. Filming finished a few months ago, but we don’t yet know when it will be released.
