Visa issues take hold of Whitemon, pulling him away from The International 2025

As The International 2025 approaches rapidly, not all players have had a seamless path to Hamburg. Unfortunately, Whitemon is currently taking a break from the competition.

Issues with visas and unforeseen events have necessitated some roster adjustments for The International 2025, serving as a reminder that the path to TI is seldom smooth. Earlier, a Southeast Asian player had to withdraw due to health issues – Wilson “poloson” Koh was diagnosed with tenosynovitis and won’t be participating in TI 2025. Sadly, more unfortunate news has emerged: Tundra Esports will be playing without their position five support, Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon.

Tundra Esports lose Whitemon for their TI 2025 challenge

Following a third-place finish at last year’s International tournament, Tundra Esports began this season with dreams of claiming the Aegis once more. Although these aspirations persist, they must pursue them without the presence of Whitemon, as confirmed in an official statement on their X account. This news has left fans feeling both disheartened and concerned about how it might affect their team’s overall performance.

Regrettably, Tundra’s teammate, Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon, won’t be able to join them at The International. This is because there have been unexpected difficulties with his visa application process.

We did everything possible to obtain Matthew’s visa, but unforeseen situations beyond the control of both Tundra and Matthew unfortunately resulted in this predicament.

The squad will adjust and carry on, and we want to express gratitude to Tobias “Tobi” Buchner, Fissure Universe 5 Champion, for joining us at the last minute. He has been working with us during the past few days, and we are now all set to confront TI boldly and conquer adversity once more.

Currently, besides Whitemon and Poloson, and following the departure of Gaimin Gladiators, it seems that most players have successfully overcome the obstacles en route to Germany. As the start of the events draws near within just a few days, the air is buzzing with excitement.

The full roster for Tundra without Whitemon is as follows:

  • Remco “Crystallis” Arets
  • Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov
  • Neta “33” Shapira
  • Martin “Saksa” Sazdov
  • Tobias “Tobi” Buchner

The ability of Tundra to adjust to the recent lineup changes might be crucial, given that TI 2025 is set to commence in Hamburg.
