At the IEM Katowice 2025 tournament, Virtus.Pro will square off against Team Spirit in the quarterfinals. Virtus.Pro have managed to qualify for this stage by overcoming numerous challenges during the Play-In phase. On the other hand, Team Spirit, who are the reigning champions, are still in the competition with their sights set on defending their title and holding onto the trophy. Virtus.Pro vs Team Spirit Preview

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that my team, Virtus.Pro, got an invite to the prestigious IEM Katowice event straight from our Valve Global Standings. The road wasn’t easy, though. We had to start with the Play In, where we clinched victories against SAW and MIBR. The series against SAW was a breeze for us, but we had to work hard to secure the win against a formidable and resurgent MIBR team.

During the Group stage, they faced a tough challenge against G2 Esports in their initial match. G2 Esports, who have recently undergone some modifications, failed to disrupt VP’s rhythm, ending up with a 0-2 loss at the hands of electroNic and his team. Regardless of their determined efforts and an impressive performance by mONESY, G2 couldn’t secure the second map beyond overtime.

As a gamer, I orchestrated an impressive comeback against Eternal Fire with Train pushing our victory into overtime. Despite their efforts, Eternal Fire advanced to the Playoffs via the lower bracket. With this win, we at VP guaranteed our place in the playoffs, the outcome of our match against Vitality deciding our seeding. Unfortunately, we fell 0-2 to Vitality, but that defeat didn’t affect our qualification for the playoffs one bit.

In their initial competition, Team Spirit suffered a defeat at the hands of their regional rivals, NAVI – a setback they hadn’t experienced before. However, they managed to bounce back by beating Team Liquid and GamerLegion in the lower bracket. The loss against NAVI was the most significant hurdle they faced; it will be intriguing to observe whether the team can learn from their mistakes and improve during the playoffs.
