Virgin River ‘villain’ fears character could die in season 7
Actress Lauren Hammersley, who plays Charmaine Roberts on Virgin River, isn’t very optimistic about her character’s future in season seven.
In the final episode of the popular Netflix series, it ended with Jack, Charmaine’s former partner, visiting her residence out of concern because she didn’t attend his wedding to Mel, as planned.
Instead, he discovered the door open and the house in a mess, and it was only when he glanced into the nursery that his face grew troubled.
As the seventh season of “Virgin River” prepares to start filming this month, Hammersley shared on Instagram a recent conversation with the showrunner, Patrick Sean Smith, regarding the suspenseful ending.
In-game, as I pestered him about the outcome of my character, I shot him a message: “Hey, am I gone for good here? If so, I’d appreciate some clarity. I might need to brush up on my drive-thru skills at a certain fast food joint if that’s the case.
The actor made an additional suggestion, should Charmaine indeed meet her end: “In case Charmaine passes away this year, might I humbly request a unique send-off? Drowning her in a river seems fitting, for it would make quite the dramatic spectacle.
After Ben Hollingsworth, the actor who portrays Dan Brady, revealed that he and Smith have talked about planning for a potential Season Eight.
I’ve just chatted with Sean, and it’s clear that we should continue for Season 8. Interestingly, he’s already brainstorming about what lies ahead.
Additionally, Smith has hinted at an upcoming spin-off series of the show, focusing instead on the relationship between Mel’s deceased mother Sarah and Everett Reid.
He shared with Deadline in December that it’s currently being worked on because it’s still under development. He also revealed that the project is primarily set in the 1970s.
Virgin River seasons 1-6 are streaming now on Netflix. Season 7 is in production.
