Vinnie Jones’ firm which ‘kept him going’ following tragic death of beloved wife Tanya and boasted Bradley Cooper and Robbie Williams as customers went bust with £270K debt

In my role as an ardent admirer, I’m sharing the unfortunate news that the celebrity flooring enterprise founded by Vinnie Jones along with his long-time friend has unfortunately faced financial difficulties, leaving a substantial debt of approximately £270,000, as has been disclosed.

As a die-hard admirer, let me share the transformation I’ve witnessed: In 2016, that legendary footballer-turned-actor, now in his 60s, made an unexpected move from Hollywood’s glitz and glamour to the world of flooring. Partnering with my trusted friend Danny Deacon, we established Deacon Jones Fine Flooring Ltd, venturing into a new chapter together.

Previously, Vinnie discussed that the business had consumed much of his time as he coped with the sorrow caused by his wife Tanya’s passing due to cancer at the age of 53 in 2019.

As reported by The Sun, the company proudly counted celebrities such as Bradley Cooper, Robbie Williams, and Ronnie Wood among its notable clients.

In addition, Vinnie’s professional ties prove useful as he is said to have provided high-profile figures such as cricketer Kevin Pietersen and ex-Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho with fresh carpets.

However, the company was forced into a creditor-led bankruptcy process about three years back, as it accumulated significant financial losses due to the pandemic.

As per its financial report, it owed trade creditors £122,920, a bank £50,000, HMRC £8,121, and the directors (among whom was Vinnie who invested £66,962 himself) an additional £90,182.

The firm was finally dissolved on 26 June this year.

Following the deduction of liquidator charges and other costs, only £19,913 remained for the creditors; this entire amount was then claimed by the tax authorities.

TopMob have contacted Vinnie’s representatives for comment.

In a conversation with Yahoo News in 2023, he mentioned that despite the loss of his wife, his wood flooring business, Deacon Jones, was thriving, providing him with a sense of purpose and activity.

I need to adapt and understand that dealing with my grief may take some time. Trying to rush or resist it won’t be helpful.

Initially, when the business was established, Vinnie shared with The Sun that he would be the sales representative for the venture, and also emphasized his desire to contribute to his hometown, since he hails from neighboring Watford.

He shared with the media: “Our carpets are incredibly durable, and it’s on them where I plan to project my rugged persona.

I take great pride in my origins, and I wish to express this. Creating employment opportunities in the region is significant to me. I aim to repay the community I hail from.

While business partner Danny told Hemel Gazette at the time how Vinnie was very down to earth.

On our journey back to the club, we discussed various aspects of life. Then, he proposed a business partnership, suggesting an equal share, which he clarified for me.

‘Vinnie’s just as you would expect, hard but fair, absolutely no-nonsense, but very generous.’

In 1998, instead of continuing on the soccer field, the ex-Chelsea standout started acting and appeared in Guy Ritchie’s movie, “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels,” taking on the role of a mob enforcer.

Since then, he’s appeared on the big screen in movies such as Gone in 60 Seconds, X-Men: The Last Stand, and more recently, Ritchie’s popular Netflix series, The Gentleman.

For the past 25 years, Vinnie had been married to Tanya. Unfortunately, she passed away tragically. Before this, Vinnie often mentioned that he immerses himself in work and has consulted a psychologist in an attempt to avoid feeling overwhelmed by his sadness.

[Grief] feels like a phantom, an enveloping shroud. It enwraps you and drags you under. Its arrival is unpredictable, its reasons mysterious. It simply comes,” he explained to Stuff.

You need to struggle and rise above the situation for a moment, hold your breath as long as possible since you anticipate being dragged back under soon.

To survive, you need to deliver what people desire, or risk being overwhelmed. It’s draining at times, and there are moments when I feel like constructing a 50-foot barrier to isolate myself. Deep down, despite my inner turmoil, I believe I possess enough wisdom and expertise to manage it all.

The actor previously wrote a book about his experiences, Lost Without You: Loving And Losing Tanya.

In 2013, they were both identified with the deadliest type of skin cancer, melanoma, which claims approximately 2,000 lives annually in the UK. They bravely battled it side by side and received a clean bill of health two years later. Unfortunately, Tanya’s condition would relapse at a later stage.

Vinnie attributes his cancer to his active outdoor life, which was further impacted by his relocation to Los Angeles for his film career with Tanya, whereas he maintains that the cause of Tanya’s cancer was due to medications she had been taking since her heart transplant in her twenties.

12-year-old couple encountered each other for the first time, eventually getting married in 1994. Earlier, the actor had confessed to Piers Morgan in his Life Stories segment that he has no intentions of tying the knot again.

A recovering alcoholic, Vinnie is now a decade sober.

Previously, he narrated the heart-wrenching tale about Tanya discovering that her cancer had metastasized to her brain during a phone conversation at their residence in Palm Springs on Christmas Eve, while they were hosting approximately fifteen relatives for the holiday celebration.

At that point, he expressed that we seemed to be losing, yet Tanya remained steadfast in her ambition to make this Christmas the most wonderful one ever. She concealed this from everyone around her. Her courage, as Jones pointed out, was beyond comprehension. All she desired was to bring joy to others.
