As I delve into this captivating narrative, it strikes me that the protagonist here is no ordinary individual. His life, much like a rollercoaster ride, has been a whirlwind of unexpected twists and turns, teeming with intrigue and humor.

On Tuesday, the cast of “Only Fools and Horses The Musical” was preparing to kick off their three-week London Christmas run at Hammersmith’s Eventim Apollo.

In a new twist, it’s been announced that Vinnie Jones, aged 59, will take on the notorious character Danny Driscoll, and Sam Lupton will portray the iconic Del Boy in this upcoming production.

On the eve of opening night, the duo was spotted near the theater, with Sam cruising by in a well-known, bright yellow three-wheeled vehicle.

This coming Christmas season, Vinnie will commence his stage performance in the “Only Fools” musical, playing in a total of 28 shows at the London Hammersmith Eventim Apollo, with the first show being on December 17th.

The performance will be traveling across the country until July 5th of next year, having achieved a phenomenal four-year sell-out streak in London’s West End.

Comedian Paul Whitehouse, aged 66 (known for his role as Grandad), collaborated with Jim Sullivan, son of the late creator of “Only Fools and Horses,” John Sullivan, to write the musical together.

Vinnie, who’ll join us solely for the Hammersmith performances, shared that he was given an opportunity to be part of the stage show when it initially debuted, but he believed it wasn’t the appropriate moment for him.

This occasion was different; he found himself unable to decline when his long-time friend and film producer, Guy Ritchie (who kick-started his acting career), encouraged him to take part in the show by saying, “You must do it.

Vinnie plays a member of the infamous Driscoll Brothers duo from the TV series, who hail from Peckham and are known for their gangster activities.

In a chilling performance, the pair consisting of towering Roy Marsden (standing at 6 feet 4 inches) and diminutive Christopher Ryan (measuring 5 feet 1 inch) instilled fear in Del Boy, Rodney, and the routine patrons of the Nags Head pub on the show.

Last month Vinnie said that he is made for the part in the musical as he previously flogged dodgy TVs and exploding toasters – just like Del Boy – during his wheeler-dealing days.

In an exclusive chat with The Sun, I shared my thoughts: “I’ve always got a soft spot for a good hustle, and that’s because I know the value of humble beginnings.

We gathered pairs of misappropriated Gucci sneakers in various sizes, along with shearling coats and other items we managed to acquire – everyone was participating.

Vinnie mentioned that he often relied on a infamous dealer, who had an office at their local golf club, as his source for non-golf related equipment commonly referred to as ‘hooky gear.’

He explained: ‘I would go there and see him, and he would be sitting there with a henchman. It was coming up to Christmas and he said to me, ‘I’ve got these lovely nests of tables and these toasters.”

Vinnie added that the trader asked him if his ‘boys at football’ would want any for Christmas.

A football player, who had purchased a toaster from Vinnie around Christmas time for his mother, encountered an accident with that very appliance.

Vinnie shared that they’d recently spruced up their kitchen, but then, unexpectedly, the toaster let out a big bang, leaving them surprised to find soot stains on the ceiling.

It was disclosed that Vinnie had to cover the expenses for the decorator, and he wound up owning all the toasters and tables, a purchase that significantly depleted his funds.

Yet, his business dealings didn’t cease after that incident. Subsequently, he found himself possessing a variety of counterfeit Russian TV sets, which ended up being stored in his garage.

He thought there would be no problems until unexpectedly, the police came to his house one day to take him into custody following a dispute with a neighbor.

It came as a shock to Vinnie that the police didn’t ask him about the numerous televisions kept in his residence for any reason.
