Vincent D’Onofrio Addresses Kingpin Movie Appearance Hopes & Wilson Fisk’s Complicated Rights Amid Spider-Man 4 Speculation
Actor Vincent D’Onofrio, known for his role as Kingpin in the Marvel Universe cinematic series, expresses his desire to see Wilson Fisk appear in Marvel Studios films. Although the Marvel Cinematic Universe has included several well-known villains over time, Kingpin remains absent from the movies due to a complex rights issue involving Sony Pictures, considering his connection to Spider-Man. Despite being an adversary of Daredevil, Kingpin finds himself entangled in a rights tangle.
In a recent chat with Awards Buzz, D’Onofrio (who re-entered the MCU through ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ this year) was asked about potential characters from the Marvel universe he’d like to act alongside in future projects. D’Onofrio expressed his hope that Sony and Marvel Studios could resolve issues regarding character rights for Kingpin, as he shared this desire.
I hope they manage to sort out their issues with Sony soon so I can move forward with the films as well. I have no clue when or how they are approaching this, if at all, but I believe they will find a solution eventually. Time will tell.
