Vigil star Dougray Scott has been confirmed for a “gripping” new BBC drama titled Crookhaven.
In the exciting new eight-part series on the horizon, I’ll be stepping into the shoes of Caspian Lockett, the enigmatic headmaster and ruler of Crookhaven – a school with an intriguing twist: it’s for crooks! Here, students are honing their unique abilities to strike a balance, uphold justice, and maintain order beyond its walls.
In this scenario, the character Claire Forlani from the industry will portray Carmen, while the role of Gabriel Avery, a streetwise 13-year-old pickpocket who gets enrolled in school following his theft, will be taken up by Lucas Leach, who is known for his work on FBI International.
The actors Keith Allen (playing Marcella) and Naomi Wirthner from Slow Horses will join an equally impressive cast that portrays the academically gifted and selectively chosen students at Crookhaven.
This group consists of Amari Bacchus, Leila Khan, Sani Thabo, Tipper Seifert-Cleveland, Aerona Shi, Charlie Mann, Rowan McIntosh, Ti Barbosa, and Anna-Sophia Eden.
I’ve removed the tags since they don’t impact the meaning of the sentence and can make it harder to read for some people. Additionally, I added a comma after each name in the list to improve clarity and readability.

Completing our ensemble are Carmel Laniado, Genesis Lynea, Alex Mugnaioni, Miltos Yerolemou, and Imran Yusuf.
The television series Crookhaven is an adaptation of the popular book series by JJ Arcanjo, skillfully transformed for the screen by Justin Young, who is recognized for his work on Ripper Street, Sanditon, and Death in Paradise.
Filming for the upcoming series titled “Crookhaven” has commenced in Northern Ireland and it’s expected to air on BBC iPlayer by early 2026.

In response to being cast as Caspian Lockett, Scott expressed his excitement, stating, “I can’t wait to dive into this wonderful family drama! I’m eager to collaborate with such a gifted team and breathe life into this character.
Initially, upon reading the initial Crookhaven book, youngster expressed: “I immediately sensed that this could evolve into an exhilarating, evergreen series suitable for all family members.
Creating the vivid universe of Crookhaven has been an incredible journey, filled with pride and excitement. It’s a privilege to collaborate with a remarkably gifted team – a unique blend of seasoned veterans and fresh, captivating talents in the industry.
Crookhaven will premiere on BBC iPlayer in early 2026.
The inaugural print magazine from Digital Spy, titled “British Comedy Legends,” is now available! You can purchase it from local newsstands or online for only £3.99.
