Vidya – Celestial Swan: Simply Elementary
It’s unclear if you know this, but there has been a death reported within the Security Zone. The question is who ended up taking the life of Acacia, a character that has been a go-to choice for many players for an extended period? This case resembles an age-old mystery, and we have a detective working on it. After her initial film, Vidya’s reception was split, leading her to switch careers into crime investigation instead – and she’s now pursuing this case relentlessly. Let’s catch up on the ongoing investigation.

Abilities
Standard Skill
Initiating any probe involves gathering hints first, and Vidya employs her personal holographic duplicates, or clones, in this endeavor. These clones are activated upon skill activation, and you can sustain the skill press to propel them farther distances, enabling your team to traverse a broader range. When an adversary gets too near one of these clones, it explodes, inflicting Area-of-Effect Chaos damage and indicating a possible suspect in the vicinity. You can also destroy them by firing, but be aware that each clone amplifies its own harm and explosion radius over time (up to threefold) as it examines a larger area. Vidya may deploy up to five clones at a crime scene at once, and all active clones will detonate when she departs the field for a group debriefing.
If you haven’t figured it out yet, the primary damaging skill of Vidya is what we’re dealing with here. It’s strong enough to defend herself in most gaming situations, but when considering Vidya’s overall usefulness, this ability might lead you astray.
Support Skill
Following a thorough examination, we proceed to question our suspects next. Vidya’s ability proves useful in this instance, even if Seasun’s explanation might seem slightly complicated. Essentially, Vidya flags an opponent and weakens their defense while applying an ‘Exposed Secret’ debuff every two seconds following the enemy receiving elemental damage. This debuff reduces the enemy’s resistance to that specific element. However, it’s important to note that if you keep changing the type of elemental damage inflicted, you won’t get the full benefit as the debuffs reset when a different type of elemental damage is dealt. On the flip side, if you avoid this issue, you’ll discover that the resistance reduction stacks up quite quickly due to Vidya’s neuronics providing four out of five maximum stacks the very first time the elemental resistance debuff is applied. In combination, these two debuffs offer a significant damage increase for your main DPS to capitalize on.
Conducting an investigation like this can be exhausting, but maintaining Vidya’s support skill is necessary and will drain 1 S-Energy every 0.2 seconds. For a decent duration of ten seconds, this skill is active. The cooldown on this skill is relatively short, and it also returns your S-Energy to its maximum when the cooldown finishes, ensuring you won’t be long without your next round of good cop-bad cop.
Ultimate Skill
Currently in our probe, Vidya is eager beyond belief to reveal the suspect behind the crime. Her exceptional talent allows her to pinpoint this person perfectly. Marking this suspect turns them into a Leading Suspect, quite fittingly. Once marked, Vidya will use all of her U-Energy at once to swiftly eliminate them when their health drops to a certain level as long as they have no shield, acting as the judge, jury, and executioner. The elimination point is determined by Vidya’s own Attack power and can be boosted with more U-Energy, but even with an optimal setup, it’s usually too low to be practical, as the required health is lower than the damage from a fully-charged clone from Vidya’s standard skill.
As a fan, I’d say even though Vidya’s ultimate move might seem more like a showy gimmick, it has its strategic value. Primarily, her ult grants a 10% Defense reduction debuff through one of its neuronics. This is significant because the Prime Suspect mark won’t expire unless the execute is triggered. That means you can keep this Defense-reducing effect active on a single target throughout the battle, effectively applying a permanent debuff at no extra cost. The advantages of such a debuff should be quite clear, my dear friend.
Deiwos Passive
Enhancing Vidya’s detective abilities is her Deiwos Passive, which significantly strengthens her supportive capabilities. When she wields a Chaos weapon, she continuously enhances the attack power of her team as long as her resistance reduction debuff is active on an enemy. The magnitude of this boost is determined by Vidya’s own Attack stat, and it becomes more potent with higher Alignment Index. Although the effect may seem modest, added utility is always beneficial. Keep in mind that if the Exposed Secret debuff alters elements, she will lose this buff for ten seconds or until she activates a new support skill, whichever occurs first.
Assessment
Peer through that magnifying glass, and you’ll discover that Vidya – Celestial Swan truly meets the lofty standards you’d anticipate from Seasun’s initial patch in more than a year, showcasing a solo support as the leading operative. Utilizing her abilities is straightforward: first, mark your intended target with her ultimate ability, then swiftly follow up with her support skill to inflict a powerful series of debuffs. Meanwhile, the rest of her kit offers extra offensive power to capture and bring your suspect to the station for interrogation.
Sure, even an argument as solid as a fortress will have small weaknesses or gaps. For Vidya’s abilities to work optimally, there needs to be some cooperation among the team members so that her supportive skills remain accumulated and her Deiwos remains active. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a flawed argument. It’s crucial to consider all recent evidence before reaching a final verdict.
Weapons
Every murder requires a tool, and Vidya faces two possible choices. The free Gearlock from the store offers a team-wide damage increase along with a single refill of S-Energy to maximize the availability of Vidya’s supportive abilities. On the other hand, Starlit Truth from the gacha amplifies the buffs even further by also reducing the amount of damage taken, and it continuously replenishes S-Energy at the same rate as Vidya’s support skill’s maintenance cost, ensuring it is always active. Unlike Gearlock, which increases its buffing power over time, Starlit Truth provides its full potential immediately.
Needless to say, this all sums up to a massive boost to capability, and one hell of a smoking gun.
By the way, disregard Deep Sea’s Call for now. Although it might function, the fact that it would result in losing Vidya’s Deiwos and, most significantly, the swiftness with which her supportive skill neuronic boosts resistance stacking, makes it not a viable option to consider.
Manifests
Recently, there hasn’t been much need to strive for advanced activation stages in our support releases, as they have been quite affordable to construct. However, that trend has changed – we are now in the new season of scaling up operations, or simply put, “line-go-up” is back again!
For each manifest, the increase is generally linear, except for a slight dip at M4. Therefore, select your price level and halt there. If you wish to invest more, keep in mind that using Deep Sea’s Call will not be advisable due to the need for a Chaos weapon when equipping M2.
Or simply:
The growth rate per manifest is mostly linear except for a minor drop at M4, so decide on your price and stop there. If you opt for additional investment, remember that Deep Sea’s Call won’t be suitable because M2 demands a Chaos weapon to be equipped.
Logistics
As a gamer, I’d say it like this: When it comes to choosing a logistics set, Nebula Squad is the go-to option due to its 35% teamwide damage buff, which is almost as consistent as her support skill. What makes her stand out is that her support skill doesn’t deal damage, so she can’t leverage traditional support options like Amarna or Twilight.
Regarding logistics, you essentially have two choices to make. Given that logistics characteristics consist of two primary attributes, your decision boils down to one. You should focus on getting the Attack and Alignment Index, as everything else essentially becomes irrelevant. Even S-Energy regeneration is not worth considering, since Vidya’s support skill automatically refills S-Energy when it runs out. However, unless you are a dedicated Neural Sim player, there’s no need to worry excessively. The variation between the least and most optimal logistics setup results in less than a 300ATK difference for Vidya’s Deiwos buff, which is the only stat her logistics attributes influence. Unlike an operative’s base Attack value, flat Attack enhancements from supports remain unaffected by Attack boosts, making a decent logistics set perform nearly as well as an optimal one.

Team Building
Vidya works well with any particular DPS (Damage Per Second) unit, as she’s quite adaptable and generally supportive. The true concern lies with the other support member on the team.
Keep in mind that Vidya’s support skill doesn’t always work well with teams that inflict various types of damage. Therefore, it’s best to have another support whose element aligns with your main DPS if they are also dealing damage. For instance, Enya – Exuvia works best with Electric DPS characters, while Fritia – Little Sunshine should be paired only with Thermal operatives. To achieve optimal synergy, you can either check the support skill descriptions to see if they deal damage or just look for combat situations where a single color of numbers appears, making it easier to determine the ideal team composition.
Should You Pull?
Following a thorough investigation, questioning both witnesses and suspects, and examining all available evidence, it appears that the detective Vidya – Celestial Swan could be the primary suspect in the murder of Acacia – Kaguya. With her remarkable ability to debuff opponents and an additional attack boost as a bonus, she seems to fit the profile perfectly. However, upon closer inspection, we notice that this seemingly perfect circle (donut) has a center hole (the donut’s hole), which could indicate that there is another suspect involved in the case.
Because, as it turns out, Kaguya’s fate was sealed by her own hand.
Vidya’s helpful abilities significantly diminish in mixed-element teams, leading to a noticeable decrease in her performance. In such cases, even when both are armed with 4-star weapons, Kaguya outperforms Vidya. However, when taking into account their signature weapons, it becomes evident why Kaguya ultimately surpasses Vidya.
In its specific role of bolstering a Frost DPS, Pine Aurora falls short compared to the advantages Starlit Truth offers. It’s not that Vidya’s signature weapon is excessively powerful, but rather, Kaguya’s signature weapon isn’t up to par. In simpler terms, Kaguya’s signature weapon leaves much to be desired, and this has been recognized for some time now. However, Kaguya’s versatile abilities have always compensated for the weaknesses in her weapon choices. Yet, when compared to Vidya – Celestial Swan, who is equally versatile with a significantly superior weapon upgrade path, it seems clear that hiring this detective for your next case may not be worth the investment.
