As a woman in the comedy industry, I can’t help but feel frustrated by the fact that the top-earning comedians on the list are all men. It’s disheartening to see that women still struggle to break through the glass ceiling and be recognized for their talents. Women like Katherine Ryan, who is a hilarious and talented comic, deserve to be on that list. I believe that if we want to see more women on that list, there needs to be a shift in the world’s perception of what makes a good comedian. As a woman, I know firsthand the challenges we face in this industry, but I also know that with determination and hard work, anything is possible.

In terms of the person’s life experience, it’s clear that Katherine Ryan has faced her fair share of obstacles as a female comic. However, she continues to push through and make a name for herself in the industry. It’s inspiring to see someone like her persevere and use her platform to advocate for change.

And as a final thought, I can’t help but chuckle at the irony of the fact that the women who don’t believe other women are funny are probably the ones missing out on some of the best comedy out there!

As a devoted admirer, I’ve chosen to maintain a discreet presence since my esteemed spouse, Sir Keir, and I moved into 10 Downing Street last July.

As a survivor of domestic abuse myself, I deeply empathize with Lady Starmer’s cousin who has finally spoken out about her own harrowing experiences. It takes immense courage to break the silence and share such personal stories, especially when they involve emotional and physical trauma. My heart goes out to her for the pain she endured, and I admire her strength in speaking up against this abhorrent behavior. I hope that by sharing her story, she can help others who are going through similar situations find the courage to seek help and escape the cycle of abuse. It’s crucial that we continue to support survivors and work towards eradicating domestic violence from our communities.

Naomi Alexander, a painter whose works adorn the Starmers’ residence in Kentish Town, North London, has penned an illustrated narrative chronicling her experiences of injustice.

She shares with me at the Mall Galleries, close to Buckingham Palace, that her upcoming artistic work will delve into her life as a woman who experienced abuse. Previously, she had a spouse who would keep her from entering our shared home.

He took my child away from me – with enough wealth to flee with her to Switzerland, making it unlikely I could ever locate him again. Leaving my daughter wasn’t an option for me.

Next year, the book titled “Domesticity In Turmoil” or “A Chicken Full Of Jewels” is set for publication.

The piece features Naomi, a member of the Royal Society of Oil Painters, who shares her account of the mistreatment she experienced from her deceased husband, Leo Rosengarten – a Holocaust survivor from Latvia who was engaged in the business of selling wood veneer.

In the year 2000, at the age of 71, he passed away. Naomi, who is 86, commented: “Many believe that domestic abuse is more prevalent among the lower classes. However, this isn’t true; it also occurs in the middle class.

Behind the book, there lies the charity Refuge, featuring 170 iPad sketches that depict scenes of me getting knocked out, offering a glimpse into what might have transpired initially.

In my fervent admiration for Leo, I can’t help but share this heart-wrenching tale. You see, the authorities eventually intervened and led him away, a moment that sent shockwaves through us all. His mental health crumbled under the strain, and it was evident that his children bore the brunt of his suffering. If anyone finds themselves in an abusive marriage as I once did, I implore you to seek a divorce, no matter how difficult it may seem.

In my own experience during the 1960s, legal advisors told me I had no choice but to stay – that leaving would mean forfeiting everything I held dear. It’s an agonizing memory that still haunts me today, and I hope by sharing this story, others may find the courage to break free from similar circumstances.

At the steps of No 10, following Labour’s significant win in the general election, Uncle Bernard Alexander, who is Naomi Starmer’s relative, warmly welcomed Sir Keir after the election.

Timely judgement for Robert Rinder

A timely judgment from barrister turned TV personality Robert Rinder.

‘New Year’s resolutions are generally b******s,’ declares the Judge Rinder star.

It might not be the best time to set a new goal, as it’s rather dreary and chilly. This period seems far from ideal for taking on any new tasks. Perhaps we should reconsider the idea of setting resolutions during this season.

Eye-opening conversation starters for Lucy Worsley

It seems that Lucy Worsley, the historian known for her on-screen costumes, had some surprising discussions during the festive period as part of her experiences.

She shares: “Attended a party tonight, and a gentleman mentioned, ‘I believe I may have once affixed a scold’s bridle to you.’

Does the name ring a bell? It was an old tutor from the 17th century, and he even penned a series on notable women from that era.

‘He also threw me into a pond to see if I’d float.’

Tall order for Toby

He is wedded to the slender blonde radio producer named Pippa Taylor. However, Toby Tarrant, offspring of Chris Tarrant, occasionally reminisces about his careless single life periods – especially one night in Birmingham.

According to Toby, aged 33 and the host of a radio program on X Radio, he remembers three exceptionally attractive women frequently gazing at him.

‘My mate Dan said, ‘Toby, those women are having a look at you.’ I said, ‘They are, aren’t they?’

Fortifying himself on another beer, Toby, who is 6ft 5in, strode over.

‘I said, ‘Oh, hello, my mate Dan and I thought you were looking over…’

One member of our group affirmed that they had stepped away for a moment, as our friend went to use the restroom. Given your towering height, it was conveniently agreed upon by us to regroup near you instead.

Age is just a number to Kitty

He could be a doting father gazing at his daughter as she blows out her birthday candles.

Indeed, that’s Michael Lewis you’re referring to – he’s Lady Kitty Spencer’s spouse. This coming month, he will be celebrating his 66th birthday, having recently celebrated his 34th birthday over the weekend.

At a gathering held in South Africa, the pair was photographed; interestingly, it was the place where she spent her childhood years alongside her parents, Earl Spencer (age 60) and Victoria (age 59).

As a connoisseur of style and grace, I am delighted to share that I, Lady Kitty, had the pleasure of tying the knot with none other than Lewis, a distinguished figure in the world of fashion, boasting an estimated £80million fortune, in the year 2021. It was a truly memorable occasion!

Without their father present, it was Samuel Aitken, her half-brother, who escorted her during the wedding ceremony. They are proud parents to a child named Athena as well.

To eat or not to eat meat: Cyndi Lauper’s question

A meal at home with Cyndi Lauper, the American pop icon famous for songs like ‘Girls Just Want To Have Fun’, might be an exciting event.

The singer, who is 71 years old, states that they do not consume meat. However, when feeling upset, they sometimes find themselves thinking, ‘I’ll treat myself to a hamburger.’

However, when I gaze upon my beloved pets, a dilemma arises within me – I cannot. I partake in consuming fish, yet it stirs a sense of guilt within me. And as people often claim that plants possess feelings too, I find myself pondering, ‘Now, what on earth am I to consume instead?’

Ryan’s comics rage

Katherine Ryan finds this year’s ranking of wealthy stand-up comedians unimpressive.

10 notable comedians, including Trevor Noah and Adam Sandler, happen to be male. The comedian expresses discontent towards some audiences for not fully acknowledging the talents of female comedians.

She laments, “It’s difficult for women to be seen as humorous when such a large segment of the population fails to accept that they can be.

‘Women won’t be on that list unless there’s a shift in the world.’

The well-known personality from Canada, who hosts Channel 4’s panel show 8 Out Of 10 Cats, comments: “It’s often women who say, ‘I don’t find women funny.’ Is that so? Don’t tell me you don’t know any amusing women in your life or aren’t funny yourself?

Beatrice gives a masterclass in co-parenting with Dara

Pregnant with child, Princess Beatrice graciously extended an invitation for her stepson Christopher to celebrate Christmas at Sandringham alongside his father, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Christopher’s mother Dara Huang has, meanwhile, been reminiscing about a warmer holiday.

41-year-old American architect and TV host posted a playful photo on social media, showing her from behind while relaxing on a yacht in Ibiza.

In 2022, Huang received British citizenship. Earlier this year, she expressed her delight at co-parenting Christopher, or “Wolfie,” who is eight years old, together with Beatrice and Edo.

Wolfie is fortunate enough to have two pairs of caregivers looking after him from both sides, and she mused, ‘The more, the better’, expressing her sentiment.
