In her new Netflix documentary, Victoria Beckham shared how she utilized clothing to transform into a different persona, as she chatted with her mother about their mutual passion for fashion.
In a short preview released before the launch on October 9, the designer, age 51, shared memories of how her mother, Jackie Adams, shaped her fashion sense.
Victoria will be the main focus of a show detailing her everyday experiences as the creative director of her fashion and beauty brand, which she first started in 2008.
Ahead of a fashion show, the former Spice Girl explained: ‘I’ve always wanted to do this.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve used clothing as a way to transform myself, to embody the person I aspired to be – someone perhaps different from my natural self.
When I was at school, I’d sneak off to the bathroom during lunch to alter my uniform. I always enjoyed watching my mum get ready – she really took pride in her appearance and always looked her best, you know?

She recalled her mother telling her that if you make an effort with your appearance when traveling, especially when flying, you’re more likely to be considered for an upgrade. The idea is that airlines tend to choose passengers who look presentable. However, she pointed out that this doesn’t really apply to low-cost airlines, as they don’t typically offer first class. It’s just a fun tip that doesn’t always work.
This series builds on the popularity of Beckham, the four-episode Netflix documentary released in 2023. It explores David Beckham’s impressive football career, as well as his personal life as a husband and father of four.
Despite being upset about the distance between her and her oldest son, Brooklyn, Victoria has still included him in her upcoming Netflix show. She’s prioritized showcasing him despite her personal heartache over their strained relationship. She’s put her feelings aside to ensure he’s a part of the program.
I’m a huge fan and I’ve been following this story closely. Even though the designer hasn’t spoken to Brooklyn, 26, since May, she’s decided *not* to remove the footage of him from the documentary. It’s amazing to me that she’s choosing to keep those scenes in, even as she builds her burgeoning business empire. It really speaks to her dedication to telling a complete story, I think!
The hopeful chef and his wife, Nicola Peltz, 31, are currently caught in a bitter disagreement that has led to them missing several important family events in recent months.
David Beckham’s family – including his sons Romeo and Cruz, and daughter Harper – didn’t attend the renewal of his wedding vows with Nicola Peltz on August 2nd in Westchester County, New York.
While in London this week for the Bowers & Wilkins launch of their Px8 S2 headphones, David shared some details about his family.
As someone who’s always on the go, I completely understand the challenges of travel. I recently spoke with a former footballer who shared how tough it is being away from loved ones. He told me his family really means a lot to him, and it’s something he thinks about constantly while he’s traveling. It’s a sentiment I hear often from people with demanding careers – that connection to family is so important, even when you’re pursuing your passions. He shared with Daily Mail and other news outlets: ‘I have a strong bond with my family, and they’ve become accustomed to my frequent travels over time.’
‘You know, the boys obviously have been around, you know, most of my career, so, you know.
People have noticed how much I travel – Victoria and Harper did too, especially later on. And with all the traveling I’m doing now, it’s tough, and I really miss my dogs. They’re truly part of the family, and that’s mainly what I’m feeling the loss of.
David’s statements follow reports that the Beckhams are reportedly not currently speaking to Brooklyn and his wife, actress Nicola Peltz.
The couple recently renewed their vows without inviting them.
The last time Brooklyn and his family were seen together was on Boxing Day last year. There’s no record of him being with them since then.
He didn’t acknowledge important family events earlier this month, specifically missing the chance to participate in the many birthday wishes for his brother Romeo, who turned 23. He simply didn’t join in with the outpouring of tributes.
During a conversation with the Daily Mail, Brooklyn discussed how he handles discussions surrounding his family and personal life.
He acknowledged that there will always be critics, but emphasized his gratitude for his very supportive wife. ‘My wife and I focus on what we do, stay focused on our work, and we’re happy,’ he explained.
Brooklyn said he ‘never’ worries about what people say or write about his personal life.
‘Everyone is always going to say rubbish. I just try and do this, play some golf with some friends. It’s good fun,’ he said.
