Victoria Beckham opens up about how she ‘cried’ during her ‘triggering’ new documentary and reveals she didn’t like herself in husband David’s series

Victoria Beckham has shared that she cried while watching her new documentary, which she described as triggering. She also admitted she didn’t enjoy seeing herself in her husband David’s Netflix series.

Victoria Beckham, 51, formerly of the Spice Girls, is opening up her life to cameras in a new project. This comes after the popular docuseries about her husband, David.

This docuseries will feature the singer and fashion designer openly discussing her family life and time with the Spice Girls. It will also explore the challenges she’s faced in business and the financial losses she has experienced.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, Victoria revealed that filming the show brought up difficult emotions for her – and viewers will witness her becoming overwhelmed with feelings.

‘There have been lots of triggers, I cried, like I said, I haven’t seen the final edit, but yes, I did cry,’ she said. ‘It takes quite a lot to make me cry, but I did cry.’

I was really surprised to hear Victoria say she didn’t enjoy watching herself in David‘s Netflix documentary. It all came after a clip of her being reminded about being chauffeured to school in a Rolls Royce went viral – it’s just a bit awkward seeing that played back, I guess!

She said: ‘If I’m being completely honest, I didn’t love me in that documentary.’

In other parts of the conversation, Victoria acknowledged it likely was very difficult for Liam and Noel Gallagher’s mother during their years-long disagreement, possibly alluding to her own experiences with issues involving her son Brooklyn.

As a longtime fan, it’s really upsetting to hear about the tension between Victoria and David Beckham and their son, Brooklyn, and his wife, Nicola Peltz. Apparently, things have been strained since Brooklyn, 26, didn’t make it to any of his dad’s 50th birthday celebrations back in May. There are claims he’s become quite distant from the family, and it’s all just really sad to see. Nicola, 30, is caught in the middle too, of course, and I feel for everyone involved.

Currently, Victoria appears to be referencing a well-known family dispute to subtly suggest how she really feels about the issues with her oldest child.

Regarding the much-anticipated reunion of Oasis, after years of public disagreements between Liam and Noel Gallagher, Victoria also remembered their mother, Peggy.

She expressed sympathy for Peggy, acknowledging how challenging it must have been for her that her sons were estranged for so long, and shared her joy at their reunion.

Victoria then talked about her family, but she didn’t say anything about her son, Brooklyn. The publication reported that the interviewer was told not to ask about the supposed disagreement between Victoria and her son.

In the initial preview for her new documentary, Victoria humorously described herself as appearing like a ‘miserable cow’ while considering her life and professional journey.

The three-part documentary series, simply called Victoria Beckham, will become available on Netflix on October 9.

On Wednesday, Netflix shared a preview trailer including interviews with Tom Ford and Eva Longoria. The trailer also briefly showed her oldest son, Brooklyn, despite ongoing family disagreements.

After news surfaced that Brooklyn would be part of the show, Victoria seemed to attempt reconciliation with her son by briefly including a childhood photo of him – a quick, almost unnoticeable flashback snap.

The trailer opened with Victoria sharing: ‘People assumed I was a constantly unhappy person who never smiled. But I do smile! It might surprise you,‘ she said.

As footage of her days with the Spice Girls played, she emphasized that she has ‘never forgotten where I’ve come from’ and shared that she’s always desperately wanted to be liked, even as a child.

The trailer briefly mentioned her shift from being a pop singer to a fashion designer, and another designer, Tom, admitted that ‘a lot of people didn’t take it seriously’.

Desperate Housewives star Eva then reveals ‘everyone was warning her, “you will not be accepted”‘.

The trailer concludes with David offering his wife support, saying: ‘You could make a cheese and ham toasted sandwich and we’d be proud of you.’ Victoria playfully responds: ‘Let’s be honest, I couldn’t actually make a cheese sandwich very well.’

As a lifestyle expert, I’m telling you, this documentary is a real treat! It offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at Victoria, not just her, but also her family and the people she’s closest to. You’ll feel like you’re getting a truly intimate glimpse into their world. It’s promising to be a fascinating watch, giving you access you wouldn’t normally get!

Despite being upset about the distance between her and her oldest son, Brooklyn, Victoria has focused on her work and included him in her show – even though he wasn’t shown in the preview.

Even though the fashion designer hasn’t spoken to Brooklyn since May, she’s decided not to remove footage of him from the documentary about Victoria’s growing company.

People familiar with the project have shared that a scene showing Brooklyn assisting with the cleanup of water on the catwalk during her Paris Fashion Week show in September 2024 – following a rainstorm – will be featured.

Victoria will request help from her team and family, asking everyone to pitch in and clean the runway. All of Victoria’s children will be participating in the show.

According to a source, the show focuses on Victoria’s fashion and beauty business, and the event in Paris where Brooklyn played a role. Therefore, Brooklyn will definitely appear in the show.

Brooklyn, who is married to American heiress Nicola Peltz, will be featured in the docuseries alongside his younger brothers, Romeo and Cruz.

They will appear in scenes related to the world of fashion. One scene reportedly shows Cruz getting measured for a suit as preparation for one of his mother’s fashion events.
