Victoria Beckham doc Star says she knows she comes across as a ‘miserable cow’ as she cracks jokes while celeb pals Eva Longoria and Tom Ford make cameos – but there’s no sign of son Brooklyn amid family feud

In a preview for her new documentary, Victoria Beckham playfully admitted she sometimes appears to be a bit gloomy, even joking that she comes across as a ‘miserable cow’ when looking back on her life and work.

Victoria Beckham, the former Spice Girl and now a successful fashion designer, is the subject of a new documentary series. The series comes from the team behind the popular documentaries about David Beckham and Michelle Obama, and follows the success of David’s recent docuseries.

Netflix released a short trailer on Wednesday showcasing interviews with friends of the family, including Tom Ford and Eva Longoria. Notably absent was Brooklyn, the eldest son, amid ongoing family disagreements.

The trailer opened with Victoria addressing the public perception of her, saying, ‘A lot of people saw me as a really unhappy person who never smiled, but I actually do smile! It might surprise you.’

While watching old Spice Girls videos, she emphasized she’s stayed true to her roots and shared that she’s always longed for acceptance, even as a child.

The trailer briefly shows her shift from singing to designing clothes, and Tom admits many people doubted she could succeed.

Eva then reveals ‘everyone was warning her, “you will not be accepted”‘.

The documentary will explore the challenges Victoria faced with her fashion label, revealing that the business once lost ‘millions’ of pounds. Victoria remembers the financial difficulties, and David admitted he was ‘panicked’ by the debt.

A new three-part documentary series about Victoria Beckham will premiere on Netflix on October 9th.

As a long-time admirer of Victoria, I’m incredibly excited about this documentary! It sounds like we’re finally going to get a really intimate look into her life – not just Victoria herself, but also the people she loves and who know her best. It feels like a truly special peek behind the scenes.

Despite being upset about her strained relationship with her son Brooklyn, Victoria has chosen to include him in her show, even though he wasn’t shown in the preview.

Even though the fashion designer hasn’t spoken to Brooklyn, 26, for months, she’s decided not to remove footage of him from the documentary about her growing company.

People involved with the project have shared that a scene showing Brooklyn assisting with cleanup after a rainstorm at her Paris Fashion Week show in September 2024 will be featured.

I’m so excited! Victoria is really getting everyone involved – she’s asked her team and even her family to help get the catwalk spotless! And the best part? All of her children are going to be in the show, which is just amazing to see.

According to a source, the show will focus on Victoria’s fashion and beauty business, including the Paris show where her son, Brooklyn, played a role. They’ve confirmed that Brooklyn will definitely appear in the series.

Brooklyn Beckham, husband of Nicola Peltz, will appear in the docuseries alongside his younger brothers, Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20.

The actors will appear in scenes related to the world of fashion. One scene reportedly shows Cruz getting measured for a suit as preparation for one of his mother’s fashion events.

Victoria’s new documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look at her fashion brand and her journey leading up to Paris Fashion Week.

The show will reveal the story of her life, from when she first joined the Spice Girls to building a thriving fashion and beauty business.

David Beckham, the famous England football star who married Victoria in 1999, had a big hit last year with his Netflix documentary, which also featured Victoria.

David recently shared that it took some convincing to get the subject of her new documentary on board, but praised her as incredibly dedicated and intelligent, adding that everyone should get to see her story.

David discussed the new Netflix show for the first time on Today with Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin.

It was difficult to convince her, but I truly believe she was the highlight of my work.

I just knew this was the perfect moment! She’s poured her heart and soul into building our brand for eighteen years, and honestly, it’s incredible how much she does behind the scenes. Nobody really *sees* how tirelessly she works, and I wanted to finally show that off!

I encouraged her to share a behind-the-scenes look at her daily work and business. She’s incredibly talented and dedicated, and I want others to recognize her efforts.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe what David said! In his amazing documentary – seriously, if you haven’t seen it, drop everything – he admitted the *whole* ‘Islands In The Stream’ dance with Dolly Parton was totally spontaneous! Can you even imagine?! He said his kids were actually embarrassed by it, which, honestly, I don’t get – it was pure magic! I’ve watched it a million times, and it still gives me chills. It’s just… perfect. He’s so charming to admit it wasn’t some big planned thing, it just *happened*.

He explained that the idea came to him spontaneously. They’d been inside the tent all day, and he suddenly realized it would be fun if his parents danced, even though he knew his kids might be a little embarrassed.

It all happened so quickly, and we suddenly started dancing. The kids seemed a little embarrassed, but in that moment, the song really resonated with us. Ultimately, it felt like it was just us enjoying ourselves.

Victoria amused viewers of the documentary when David playfully teased her about her comments on growing up in a working-class family.

David, sounding disbelieving, asked Victoria to tell the truth. She insisted she was being honest. He then kept pressing her to remember what kind of car her father drove her to school in.

Finally, the Spice Girl agreed, revealing, ‘Okay, my dad owned a Rolls-Royce in the 1980s.’ David simply said ‘Thank you,’ then left and shut the door, having gotten the information he needed.

Victoria shared in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar that the moment wasn’t planned at all. She explained that David was watching on a monitor in another room and simply poked his head in the doorway.

‘It was not rehearsed. Like the dancing in the tent. None of it was rehearsed.’

Okay, so Victoria just *gets* me, you know? She totally took that hilarious ‘My Dad Had A Rolls Royce’ thing and turned it into a T-shirt! It’s part of her clothing line, and it’s only £110, which, honestly, is a steal for a piece of history! I NEED one. Seriously, I’m obsessed.

The couple also spoofed the scene in a Super Bowl advert for Uber Eats.

Netflix reports that the documentary series about David Beckham was its most popular show for two weeks after its release almost two years ago, attracting 11.6 million viewers worldwide.

Victoria Beckham will be released on Netflix on October 9.
