With Christmas approaching, the Beckhams are reportedly missing their son Brooklyn even more, and are feeling the strain of their distance.
People close to David and Victoria Beckham say their son’s distance is proving difficult, especially since he wasn’t able to see his father receive his knighthood recently or celebrate Inter Miami’s championship win.
As someone who follows families closely, I’m hearing that this year is particularly tough for them. His not being there is really casting a shadow over important moments – like when he received his knighthood, and now with Christmas. It’s like his absence is a palpable presence, especially when remembering how joyful last year’s holidays were with everyone together.
David and Victoria Beckham haven’t seen their son Brooklyn for a while. He’s been living in the United States with his wife, Nicola Peltz, and staying with her family. The rest of the Beckhams – including their other children Romeo, Cruz, and Harper – are still based in the UK.
Things reached a breaking point in May when he and Nicola, 30, skipped his father’s 50th birthday party. Shortly after, his sons, Cruz and Romeo, stopped following him on Instagram. Then, the couple renewed their wedding vows without telling or inviting any of his family.

Fans were surprised last week when Victoria Beckham’s mother, Jackie, posted a photo of a personalized Christmas stocking belonging to Brooklyn, hinting at his return home for the holidays.
Victoria posted a video on Instagram showcasing her mother’s beautiful holiday decorations, which were artfully arranged on the stone fireplace in her living room.
Above the fireplace, you can see matching red Christmas stockings hanging for Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, as well as many of their cousins.
Victoria’s sister, Louise, has four children – Liberty, Tallulah, Finlay, and Quincy – with her former spouse, Darren Flood.
Captioning the video, the former Spice Girl wrote: ‘So many grandchildren!’
People close to the Beckhams say Jackie, and David’s mother Sandra, are deeply upset by the current distance between them, especially because they used to be very close.
The source explained that while they don’t typically share photos of all the Christmas stockings, doing so is their way of acknowledging how much they’re missing Brooklyn.
It’s wonderful that he has a loving family, and whatever issues are happening between him and Nicola’s family don’t reflect the Beckhams’ own family dynamic.

They want him to know he’s always welcome and the door is open whenever he wants to visit. They especially hope he’ll come home for Christmas, so they can all move past whatever happened and start the new year with a clean slate.
As for Nicola, they’ve given up on trying to repair their relationship with her. It doesn’t seem likely she’ll change her mind, so they’re now focusing their attention on Brooklyn.
In addition to David receiving his knighthood and his football team’s win, both he and Victoria missed a family celebration in October for the launch of Victoria’s Netflix documentary.
The fashion designer celebrated the London premiere with her closest friends and family, while Brooklyn and his wife were attending an event in Beverly Hills, thousands of miles away.

Even though they’re not close, his grandmother has been trying to stay in touch with Brooklyn and recently left a comment on one of his cooking videos.
Brooklyn, known for sometimes getting mixed reactions to their cooking, received widespread approval in October after making a beautifully presented beef wellington.
Jackie’s sweet message really stood out – she proudly wrote, ‘That looks amazing Brooklyn. Lots of love.’
Victoria recently discussed how her relationship with her son has shifted due to their ongoing disagreement.
The fashion designer discussed her family life on the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper, but avoided mentioning Brooklyn by name.
She explained that their family is very close and open with each other. They emphasize the importance of communication and make sure everyone feels comfortable talking about anything, creating a safe and supportive environment.
