Vicky Pattison has apologized to viewers of Strictly Come Dancing after she wasn’t able to appear on the It Takes Two show Monday night, following her exit from the competition.
On Sunday night, the 38-year-old presenter became the most recent celebrity eliminated from the show, losing in a dance-off against Balvinder Sopal.
Typically, couples who are eliminated from the show discuss their departure on ‘It Takes Two’ the next day. However, Vicky and her professional partner, Kai Widdrington, were surprisingly missing from the program.
She recently apologized to viewers of Strictly Come Dancing on social media, explaining that show bosses had given her permission to miss a performance so she could celebrate her birthday.
Vicky shared a photo from her birthday celebration on Instagram, writing, ‘Such a lovely evening with friends and family!’
Just letting everyone know I won’t be on It Takes Two tonight! My wonderful Strictly family gave me the night off to celebrate my birthday.

She added: ‘Me and @kaiwidd will be on on Wednesday and I can’t wait!!!’
I just loved seeing the photo of Vicky celebrating! It was so sweet – her husband, Ercan Ramadan, was completely smitten with her, just watching her with such adoration as she blew out her birthday candles. It was a really lovely moment.
Oh my gosh, she posted the sweetest thing about Kai! Seriously, she was all about how much she’s going to miss him – 30 years of pure perfection, by the way – and the whole Strictly crew. It was just… everything! I’m not crying, you’re crying! It was so clear how much she adores him and everyone involved. I can’t even handle the cuteness!
Vicky shared how grateful she is for the past couple of months and her amazing time on Strictly Come Dancing! She’s going to miss everyone involved – her ‘Strictly family’ – but is excited to watch them perform in Blackpool this weekend. She sent lots of love to the whole team!
It’s hard to express how meaningful this experience has been – it’s honestly one of the highlights of my life, and I can’t imagine anything topping it! I want to give a huge thank you to @kaiwidd – you’re the most incredible partner and a wonderful friend.
She finished by saying, “Thank you all so much for your incredible support and kindness. I’m truly grateful – you helped a little girl’s dreams come true, and I’ll always cherish the time I spent dancing!”
Fleur East, hosting It Takes Two on Monday, explained that Vicky and Kai couldn’t be on the show that night, but would be appearing later in the week. She shared the sad news that they had said goodbye to a loved one over the weekend.
The results of Sunday night’s show, where Vicky was eliminated in what many called the most shocking vote yet, were accidentally posted online before the broadcast.

Okay, so after the bottom two couples danced again, the judges – Motsi, Shirley, and Anton – all agreed that Balvinder should stay in the competition. Even Craig, who had the deciding vote this week, said he would have made the same choice if he’d had to vote. It was a pretty unanimous decision, really!
Even though two couples finished with the lowest scores on Saturday, viewers were surprised by which pair the judges chose to keep on the show.
Vicky, visibly emotional, told Tess Daly that she’d really enjoyed her time on the show. She admitted the week had been tough, and while she’d given it her all each week, she never expected to make it past the first week.
I’m truly honored to have gone through this with such wonderful people, especially Kai. I don’t want to sound overly sentimental, but Kai, you’ve been the best partner anyone could ask for. I’m really sorry we didn’t make it to Blackpool, but just having you as my partner feels like a win, and I’m so thankful.
Kai told Vicky she embodies everything the show stands for – strength, confidence, and independence – and shared that he’s enjoyed every moment with her.
I’m really disappointed I can’t join you in Blackpool on Monday. But I feel so lucky to have you as my partner, and you’ll always be remembered as a Strictly legend.
