Vicky McClure has revealed she’s hoping to work with her Line of Duty colleagues, Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar, on a new TV show. She hinted it would be a departure from their previous work, suggesting a travel series is in the works, and that she’s already discussed the idea with both actors.
There’s been talk of a seventh season for the hit BBC police show, but Vicky McClure has revealed she’s currently focused on a different project.
So, me and the guys – Adrian Lester and Martin Compston – have been chatting about doing a travel show together when we finally get a moment to breathe. It’s just tricky finding the time! But honestly, Line of Duty was amazing for us. It gave us both a real boost in our careers, and more importantly, we became really good friends through it all.

During the interview, McClure also addressed the possibility of more Line of Duty, but unfortunately stated she had no new information to share.
She also said she didn’t want to mislead anyone, but confirmed they’re all very enthusiastic about the possibility of making another season.
The police drama finished its six-season run in 2021, but there’s talk of a seventh season. All three main actors have indicated they would be interested in returning.
Adrian Dunbar, known for playing Superintendent Ted Hastings, recently mentioned he’s hoping to receive a script for the seventh season. However, the BBC hasn’t yet confirmed the new season or made any official statement.
Adrian Dunbar said they are eager to receive a script for the next series of Line of Duty to find out what happens with their characters. Jed Mercurio is writing it, and they’ve been in discussions with the BBC, according to an interview with The Times.
The BBC is expected to make the official announcement, but we’re hoping to start working on another series next year. We’re sure Jed will come up with some exciting new plot developments.
Look, I’m just like everyone else – I’m really hoping we get an announcement from the BBC soon. We’re all on the edge of our seats waiting to hear what they’ll say!
I’m aware Jed is busy with other projects, but Vicky McClure, Martin Compston, and I are all eager to work on another season. We’re hoping to be back filming in Belfast next year, causing our usual bit of playful trouble around town.
Line of Duty seasons 1-6 are available to stream now on BBC iPlayer.
