As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours immersed in virtual worlds, I can’t help but see parallels between Vicky McClure’s real-life journey and my own digital escapades. Just like leveling up a character or completing a quest in a game, life events are the milestones that make our stories worth telling.
Vicky McClure has marked her first wedding anniversary with husband Jonny Owen.
Last August, the actor from “Line of Duty” got married to a Welsh producer and actor. To celebrate their first anniversary, he recently posted a collection of photos, which included one from their wedding day and another from their engagement.
“On our first anniversary, I want to say how happy it makes me, McClure here. Our special day was fantastic, and each day spent with you brings even more joy!”
On the special day of their first wedding anniversary, Owen too shared some snapshots from their collection, captioning it: “Celebrating our 1st Anniversary, my love! Here are our earliest and latest memories (on my phone at least). Bravo and Congratulations xxx.”
As I celebrated another year of gaming bliss, countless supporters extended heartfelt congratulations. Among them was author Donna Ashworth, who penned: “Happy anniversary! You two are loved.”
“Caroline Hirons cheerfully wished an Anniversary, she wrote,” and Paddy McGuinness admired it as ‘Gorgeous’.” or
Last summer, McClure publicly declared her marriage through a Instagram post, stating then, “Got hitched in Notts!! Best day I’ve ever had!!” (informal)
At the event, I found myself taking the mic during a break and dialing my daughter Katie, who just so happened to be hosting her BBC Radio Wales show at that moment. You see, she had to cut our time together short because of her commitments as a radio host.
From her wedding ceremony, McClure shared: “We’re now officially married! We’ve had an absolutely fantastic day and we’re disappointed you couldn’t stay, but we’re incredibly proud of you. You’re missing out on a lot of dancing, Katie, but there’s always a chance for more!”

Additionally present were the fellow actors from Line of Duty, Adrian Dunbar and Martin Compston, along with McClure’s Dementia Choir who gave a performance.
Compston posted an amazing day’s memory of his own, mentioning that the first dance with the dementia choir was touching and symbolic of them cherishing the time with the dementia care team. Later on, they enjoyed a couple of beers together.
