Vick Hope Bids Farewell to Radio 1 as She Prepares for Motherhood with Calvin Harris!

Vick Hope, who is expecting her first child with husband Calvin Harris, posted a series of photos as she begins her maternity leave, saying goodbye in the process.

You see, I am that radio presenter who tied the knot with my DJ partner in 2023, at the age of 41. And there, beside me, was my cherished co-host from BBC Radio 1, Jamie Laing. Together, we created moments of shared happiness, captured in those precious snapshots that would forever remind us of this special day.

On the day she was stepping away for maternity leave, Vick glowed beautifully in a soft, light-blue corduroy gown.

In appreciation for the affection and amusement they brought, she graciously acknowledged her team and hinted at some forthcoming presents. Among these were a luxurious red velvet cake and infant garments.

Posting the album on Instagram, she wrote: “Last @bbcradio1 show, just the two of us for now. What a fantastic ride it’s been!

I wanted to express my gratitude for the affection and amusement we’ve shared over the past few months. A big thank you to the entire team, and also our fantastic listeners. You all are legends, truly remarkable individuals.

Friends of the broadcaster overflowed her comments section with warm messages, as Jamie wrote: ‘I love you like a sister, x’ while Ashley James and Sophie Habboo responded with rows of heart symbols.

Mollie King also commented: ‘Such wonderful news!!! So happy for you Vick!!’ 

On Wednesday, Vick concluded her stint at the radio station, but she still has a task ahead – presenting BBC Radio One’s Big Weekend on Friday.

This week, Vicky made it official that she’s wrapping up her time at BBC Radio 1 as she prepares for maternity leave.

In her chat with co-host Jamie on Monday, she informed the audience: ‘I believe it’s important to mention that next week will be my last one before I take a leave for maternity.’

In a simple and conversational manner, the statement could be rephrased as: “Jamie said, ‘You’re truly an exceptional friend, individual, and I have no doubt you’ll make an outstanding mother.’ To this, she responded with a grateful smile, ‘Thank you.’

Over the past several weeks, Vick has been noticeably sporting an expanding belly, and this was particularly evident when she made an appearance at the studio for her program on Thursday, although she hasn’t officially announced it yet.

On Monday, she posted the initial photos of her baby belly while spending time at their residence in Ibiza, which they share with Calvin.

In my perspective as a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d say I gleamed with vitality, sporting a vibrant bikini that highlighted my evolving silhouette. On another occasion, I gracefully donned a chic green gown, casting a loving gaze upon my growing belly.

The presenter wrote this caption for their post: ‘Recently spending time with earth: Companions, kinfolk, and backyard creatures.’

Vick and Calvin have faced mounting rumours she’s pregnant with their first child.

As an over-the-moon fan, I couldn’t help but buzz with excitement when Vick posted a string of images from a rustic, baby-shower themed retreat with beloved companions on Instagram. The suspense was palpable!

Last year, Vick and Calvin, whose birth name is Adam Richard Wiles, marked their first anniversary as husband and wife. They exchanged vows in a grand, Glastonbury-themed wedding held in Ibiza back in September 2023.

Following their wedding, they embarked on a luxurious honeymoon journey to Brindisi, Italy, aboard a £25 million personal aircraft, designed for romance.

Previously, Vick revealed their love story actually goes all the way back to the mid-Noughties.

Vick mentioned that, at the age of 19, she declined Calvin’s romantic overtures, which came during his triumphant phase with the success of his song “Acceptable In The 80s.

In a heartfelt confession to You Magazine, I shared this: “One of the moments from our inaugural serious rendezvous still leaves us in fits of laughter – yes, even today!

As Calvin amassed a staggering estimated fortune of £200 million, placing him among the world’s top producers, it turned out that Vick had earlier confessed to being superficial and unaware that he would transform into an Adonis-like figure.

Speaking about her engagement to Calvin, Vick admitted she chose to keep the specifics of her proposal under wraps, considering it a ‘unique and precious instance.’ Furthermore, she expressed that it was simply ‘perfect.’

She mentioned, “We avoid sharing much on social media as the moments we spend together represent genuine life experiences that belong solely to us.

After quite some duration, I’ll be wrapping up work today and heading home to a life all my own. I’m discovering the art of achieving harmony and tranquility in my days.
