As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must say that the announcement of Vice and Mature joining The King of Fighters XV is like a breath of fresh air. Having grown up with these characters since their debuts in ’96 and ’94 respectively, it’s always exciting to see them evolve with each new installment.

Noteworthy additions have been made to the already stellar lineup of The King of Fighters XV, as these two female characters are now part of the action.

As a dedicated gamer, I can certainly appreciate the diversity in character selection for KOF XV. Given that it’s a 3v3 team fight game, it makes sense that they’d offer more characters than your typical title. It seems like SNK, the brilliant minds behind this game, have decided to leverage this unique aspect even further, offering an even broader range of fighters to choose from and enhancing the strategic depth of the gameplay.

At Evo 2024, two fresh characters were unveiled for The King of Fighters XV – Vice and Mature will be added to the game as special downloadable content towards the end of this year.

In the initial post introducing these characters, it’s stated that both Vice and Mature from KOF XV are set to launch in December 2024.

As a diehard fan, I’d say that in the heat of the game, Vice excels at applying intense pressure up close and executing powerful command throws. Her versatile movement techniques and strategic long-ranged pokes position her as a formidable adversary, particularly when we’re battling it out at mid-range.

Initially, Vice made her appearance in The King of Fighters ’96. Subsequently, she became a recurring character in several primary versions, such as The King of Fighters XIV, which precedes it.

She takes pleasure in violent acts, including taking lives. Vice excels at various moves like strategic grabbing techniques and forceful throws, particularly in the corners.

Mature in The King of Fighters

Here is the gameplay breakdown for Mature in The King of Fighters XV.

Swiftly maneuvering and strategically striking during opportune moments, this character is often referred to as ‘Mature.’ Her slower projectiles serve as an effective barrier for approaching enemies. In the King of Fighters XV battles, she offers a variety of strategies for different ranges. However, Mature might find it challenging to counteract an aggressive offense from her opponents.

For the first time, this character appeared in the game The King of Fighters ’94. But Mature became playable in The King of Fighters ’96. She is also present in The King of Fighters XIV.

The characters Mature and Vice share a penchant for violent tendencies, as the creators label Mature as a “relentless woman” and Vice as a “harsh woman”.

In the fights, Mature emphasizes speedy movements and a variety of quick attacks.

In simple terms, The King of Fighters XV features an active official league – qualifying rounds for the SNK World Championship 2025 take place at major fighting tournaments.
